Ok, my city was under a tornado warning off and on last week, the clouds are always really black, and the wind is really strong and the temperature gets really cold (12 Celcius). Thats usually what a big storm looks like.
One time I was on a road trip with my family we were drivimg in the middle of nowhere (Saskatchewan) and we saw a black wall of clouds. We kept on going though, and eventually it began to rain. So much so that we couldn't see ahead of the hood, so we pulled over, and as we pulled over, the car was struck by lightning. We sat there for about half an our getting pelted by hail and lighting striking withing 300 metres. Eventually it passed though. The two summers ago, and huge storm rolled in and took out our power for 14 hours and lightning hit our tree and knocked it over (which was about 15-20 metres tall).
Ever since then I've hated storms.
I'm sure someone from Ontario as well as Tornado alley should have more interesting tales to tell, as well as people living on the coast where hurricanes can happen.
BTW these were just my Summer stories, I have many more winter stories.

120cm of snow in southern Ontario in 3 days. Very rare for us.

Its no -30C like in Winnipeg. I don't remember the last last time we dropped below -15C. If we did they'd probably close the schools so no one would freeze

Well every couple of weeks where I live, we get massive dust storms. Everything gets covered, and then I have to wash everything.

Due to the wondrous ways everything works here in England, we have an inch of snow and EVERYTHING shuts down. We got sent home from college once because there was a risk of snow. Pretty pathetic really.
Although, my friend got hit by a tree in the (not so) famous Birmingham tornado, a few years back. Other than that, some roof tiles were mislodged, and one shop's windows broke. 'Bout it, really.

Well for where I live in the USA, the temps have been in the 90*F (32.2*C) range but it feels like 105*F to 110*F (that is 40.5*C to 43.3*C). |

With the heat wave coming 35C here with humidity making it feel well into the 40's. Thank god for lake Huron being only an hour away and my basement is always cool and the place to be.

My bike is my safe heaven in the heat (I will ride along the lake shore (Lake Michigan), but not go for a swim.
Ok I don't go for very long rides in this heat, but 20 to 40 miles isn't bad if I bring along my water pack as well as have both bottles filled and on the bike. |
