Strobo's stages
Strobo
After a week of trial and error with the new editor – I skipped PCM ’10 – I hope my stages are decent enough for other players to enjoy, or at least play them Smile. Since it is that time of the year, I’ve decided to create a Tour de France variant. 21 stages means a lot of work, so there is no release date whatsoever. I guess that along the way we’ll find out when, or even if, I can focus long enough to finish the whole Tour Smile.

The route has already been fixed, but I’ll only update it one stage at a time. The idea is to go for a well-balanced Tour: a first week with opportunities for sprinters and punchers alike, and a nice balance between mountain stages and time trials.

The Grand Départ will take place on the Côte d’Opale in the North of France. The first stage will be a 32km team time trial around the city of Calais. Teams take off at the marina, and after passing the entrance of the Euro tunnel, the stage takes them to Cap Blanc Nez (910m at an average of 7%), which has seen a finish of the Quatre Jours de Dunkerque in 2008 – for those interested:

The second part of the stage follows the coastline back to Calais, allowing the wind to do some damage. The finish line is drawn in front of the City Hall. Despite the Cap Blanc Nez climb and the wind, differences should be minor, especially given the short distance. Tests show that 10 to 15 teams are within a minute of the winning team.

All comments, suggestions and critical remarks are more than welcome!

PS: For instance, a tip on why my screens won't show would be very helpful... Anyone Smile?
