Ok, ive played all pcm's during the years, but this 2011 edition beats me. How do i control my riders in the mountains without ending at +20 or worse? I get a feeling the AI is cheating heavily. This is the scenario:
My rider has 80 in climbing, his form is 95, and he is using the best equipment possible to maximise mountains. The best competitor in the entire race got 73 in climbing, followin gby worser guys with 72 and downwards.
I try to attack but this tactic is totally useless at my guy cant even attack faster than peloton is riding..
I try to (as ive done in previous pcs editions) to take a heavy pace at 77-85 to split peloton and then somewhat sail away from the nearest guys as my stat should be like this is what normally would happen, but no.. after a fe kms i am outdisstanced by one rider after another, with any luck i can still make it top10
I try the defensive tactic staying at 5th spot in passive mode but this kills off my yellow almost as fast as if i attack.
I am beginning to feel this game is totally bugged, ir the AI cheats enourmously.
Can someone tell me how to win a big mountain stage with a mountain rider please?
I pretty much fail with sprints aswell, also with a guy with far better stat/form than any other in the entire race!
I have no such issues in the mountians here is what I do:
1) Make sure your best climber is protected by a teammate for as long as possible. Usually I use my 2nd best climber for this
2) Going into the climb make sure he's in or close to the front of the peleton going into the climb.
3) On the mountain set him on the dot and control his pace himself. Make sure he stays among the first 15-20 riders to ensure he don't get trapped behind others.
4) When/if you attack do it as a counterattack when one of the other riders is attacking. If your climber is strong you vcan do a very short attack followed by a hard effort 80-85 on the dot setting.
5) Sprint around 0.5km from the finish.
I doubt my way of doing is perfect, but it works quite well on normal and hard difficulty.
Well on the clims there is a moment the pace goes down. Lets say, you ride with effort 80% and you just able to follow then there is no point to atack. but when you suddenly start to move up, from 8 till the front, then try to atack. Also keep in mind that maybe you spent to much energy before the final starts, For that its hard for your climber to follow.
