Hi
Just a quick question on the new 2011 edition. Does anyone know how these new sponsors work once you send a agent away? How long does it take for him/her to come back with something? and can you only have one sponsor at a time?
Thanks

Where do you send this "agent"?
I only have 1 main sponsor which is from the name of the team I started, and havent seen anything regarding secondary sponsors so far.
Where should i look?
They have this great beer here in England, I really love it. Its called Pint.

It will appear in your "sponsor" tab when your contract is up. RTFM. |

So if the sponsors contract is due to run out at 2012, you won't be able to look for a new sponsor untill they're gone? I've read the manual and found there should be more tabs to search under sponsors. But when I go to my sponsor-page, all I see is the main page, and two tabs with the teams two sponsors. Nothing about finding a new?
And how, if possible, do you extended the current contract(s) of your sponsor(s)?

A new tab (Find Sponsor) will appear in the Sponsor menu in the year before your sponsor retires.
So, for example, if BMC quits sponsoring in 2013, you will only see the 'Find Sponsor' menu in 2012. From that menu, you can send out 'Sponsor Scouts' that will try and get you a new sponsor contract - if they find one (usually mid-May/early-June if you send them out in January) you will get a note by mail and you can start contract negotations with your possible new sponsors. |

The same thing I'm wondering att. I only got option to look for a new sponsor, never to negotiate with the current sponsor (HTC) And now I have ING as a sponsor, and I whant to have they longer, so is it possible to extend contract with your sponsor?
And sorry for bad English.. |

Does anyone know what happens if you don't send out any agents to look for a new sponsor during the final year of the sponsor deal?
The manual doesn't specify and to my 20k / month team any agent fee is a huge amount of money that I can hardly afford... |

Klysa: Unfortunately, it's not possible to extend contracts.
Snuble: Not possible to get secondary sponsors either.
DocSander: As far as I remember, you will be able to pick a sponsor among three options. It's either like that, or you will be forced to take over a different team.

You should be able to sign a co-sponsor too, although that's usually more difficult than signing sole sponsors. |

You can't have more than two sponsors at once, so if you have a co-sponsor already, you have to wait, yes. |

So...if I am HTC or Liquigas, there is no chance that they will extend? Or is it only so, that I can't ask for an extension? |

AI teams can extend the contracts, humans can't. So if you're Saxo Bank - Sungard, you will lose your sponsor at one point or another while e.g. Liquigas can continue. |

I understand that it is not possible to extend contracts but do you know if it is in general so that when the team is having good results the sponsor is more willing to continue ( I assume that even though the player can't extend sponsor contracts, sponsors may say that they are willing to continue the sponsorship)? Of course sometimes a sponsor may just quit but I hope that after playing 2 seasons all the sponsors for teams won't have changed..
Naturally I could test this myself by playing but I'm waiting for a proper DB before starting a career so if anyone who has played through the first season could comment on this (in case it isn't general knowledge how it works). |
