I have done some experimenting with sponsors, so I could get an understanding of how it works in PCM11. I am still somewhat confused but, i think i have a decent understanding.
Contracts appear to be a fixed amount, over a set time. If you go to sponsor page, you will see the sponsors Name, the amount they contribute per year, and the contract length. From what I have been able to discern, until you sign a new contract with a sponsor, the amount they contribute per year will not change at all.
If you look at the finance screen, it tells you what your sponsor revenue is for the current season and next season. If you are searching for a new sponsor, the following season revenue will be blank, but once you sign the new deal, it will display a figure in there.
When negotiating with a rider as per below, i thought when i looked at the "Maximum wage bill for next season" that with good results the sponsors would increase the limit to that amount. I was wrong, even with maximum sponsor confidence at end of season in all areas, my budget stayed exactly what it was.
I think this figure needs to be ignored unless you think you can win some big races and fund the difference in the maximum wage bill, and the actual wage bill through prize money.
If you look at the bottom line of the screenshot it says "the budget allocated by your sponsor for next year will allow you a total wage bill for your riders of about $xx" From the experiments i have done, that figure will not change at all, regardless of sponsor confidence.
Sponsor confidence appears to have more to do with whether or not you keep your job at the end of the season, and little or nothing to do with increased sponsor revenue next year...
thats normal, in real life, sponsors offer you a set amount of money for as long your contract durates. So it wil not change during your contract but it will increase if you sign a new contract with your sponsor after the contract
