Well, Ive gotta say Im very impressed so far with the game. Especially the mountain stages. It really feels much 'longer', like your actually making your way up the mountain, rather than it happening too quickly. The whole feel to it is so much more solid!
Setting a pace on the front with the effort bar doesnt kill your rider if he's a good climber, but it does string out the pack. Its very effective. Putting in an attack on a mountain with a rider who aint so good completely bins him. Feels very balanced so far.
The only issue I have is the water runs. They seem to need to happen a lot, and they take a long time to do. Sometimes it completely destroys a rider doing it. Anyone else got the same feeling?
Would be nice to see food stops at the side of the road that handled it a couple of times. |

You have to time when you will get drinks for your riders. I usually do it with 1km left in a big climb or on a flat. Never let the game do it for you and never do it on a climb unless the rider is alone.

Don't forget you'll only need water to prevent red flashes.
First you're warned by the empty bottle, quite some time later the blue flashes start, after that the red ones. Up until the red flashes: no impact on performances.
This could save you a lot of water runs, particularly during the fast paced final part of the stage. |

the only thing that irritates me is the water supply. it takes almost 15-20 kilometers because my rider is on the wrong side of the road and can't get past. I was wondering, in real life, wouldn't riders let the waterguys past? if they do, I hope they fix it in the patch, because it can be very annoying , if they don't, i have to re-think my strategy. I was wondering, When do you get water? Do you get water when the bottles are empty? I will get water when my second bottle is half empty or if there's a climb coming up. |

I am also impressed by the game. I started a small carreer (until a decent db) with continental team Veranda Willems and i like it. Haven't won a single race at the moment. But am definitely fighting with other small teams over the mountain jerseys (and the cashflow ). Best result so far is a third place in a sprint.
I also like the gaps in the flat stages. feels very realistic that not the whole bunch gets to the end of a stage. Still not sure which tactic is best in the mountain stages. In 2010 it used to be the dot which worked the best when going uphill, but now it's a matter of adjusting the effort and staying in place i think.
I'll get my waterbottles around the 55k. or just before a mountain. Haven't had really big problems with it so far. (just some broken peletons on a hill).
This game makes me very enthousiastic!

I used dot for going up the mountain, about 85 seemed to do it to keep the rate rate down and stay with the leaders and in some cases pass them. A well placed attack 9km from the end put me infront of Contador with Schleck, but left him with nothing. However, keeping on 85 dot took him to the finish 31 seconds ahead without being caught.
Also, a few earlier attacks by reasonable riders seemed to do well, but when they were caught they clearly had bugger all left and were passed and dropped as they would do in real life.
It really does feel more like you can control the race, less arcade like and more simulation. |

Im playing the Giro d'Italia in my carrer right now. And on the flat stages the sprinter teams are not trying to bridge the gap to the break. And i don't have enough helpers/good enough helpers to bridge it alone... Enoys the s*** out of me right now

I didn't mean to be rude, it's just that I saw the patch fixed some issue related to that and remembered to tell you |
