Never played PCM before so dont really know what all the DB's are about..

Are they just to correct all the false names and stats? Are they easy to put on?

There isn't alot of difference between aside from different stats on some riders. The larger DBs (PCMDaily) also comes with more races, more teams and real names for sponsors.

It is worth the wait, therefor I might not bother buying the game before the PCMDaily DB is out, no point in starting a career that you'll end in two-three weeks.

too late i already bought it =) but like i said i havent played this before so two to three weeks might be good to get used to it and have a play around really, do the DB's change the names to the correct ones?

all (proper) databases have the correct names. and in the next few weeks, ones with new stats, stages, races and other features will come out. some have auto installers so it's not too hard to install
