I can't even start the game. I click play on the menu, its asks if I want to update to the patch, I say no (I just want to start the game once atleast) and then the normal white screen pops up and after about 10 seconds I get an error message saying PCM has stopped working. I thought it was my documents with a corrupt file so I deleted that but it didn't work.
Here is my log.

Try to delete the video files in Program Files/Cyanide/PCM/Videos. Make sure to disable your anti-virus program as that may block the game.
If that doesn't work, try starting the game in windowed mode (Docs/PCM/Config/GraphicConfig -> open in Notepad -> set fullscreen to 0). |

Neither of those things worked. I think I will try updating my graphics card to see if that works.
Edit: That didn't work either.

Ok I have an update, I uninstalled my Audio driver (RealTek) and the game worked twice, so I went and installed the patch, and the game doesn't work again. I've checked my log its the exact same problem as before.

Just some interesting development I guess, the Focus Tech guy told me there's something wrong with my sound driver and device. Then in the next email I got from him he told me he had the exact same setup as me, and that it works fine for him. I'm not sure what to do now since buying a new sound card might not even fix the problem.
Edit: His exact words were "This is a very strange crash"
Who nailed the topic title? I did

Have you run a registry cleaner on your computer?
It's strange how the game worked but then failed after you updated the game. 95% of strange crashes I have on my computer are usually fixed by uninstalling the relevant applications, running a deep clean on my system to remove hidden unnecessary files, and then installing the applications in a logical manner. E.g Sound Card drivers first in your case. Even running a registry sweep after this stage may help, as there may be conflicting files left on your computer from the previous driver.
There are plenty to choose from but I use Advanced System Care 4, it's a all-in-one computer maintenance package available for free download |

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work.
I've wondering, does everyone getting a crash on startup have a 64 Bit computer? Thats what Eyolfur said might be the problem, but I have a 32 bit....

Thanks, I thought so. I'm thinking they're being a little lazy then.

For those with this issue Focus seem to be on the path to fixing the problem.

possible solution is deinstallation of your hardware. It happens to me sometimes that my drivers generate faulty data depending on the system thats running.
could also be a faulty installation. Some audiofiles that got screwed up. have you tried reinstalling?
i wouldn't worry about your audio card itself. I can't be broken. You'd get a bluescreen. May personal feeling lies with the faulty driver. yet pcm is probably one of the most incompresible programmed games

Thank you for the effort in responding.
What do you mean exactly by de-installation of hardware (system file, certain program)? Also it should be noted that PCM 10, 08 and 06 all run without problems and nothing else on my computer seems to be having troubles either.
I have re-installed the game already but nothing changed.

If pcm 2011 runs on the same setup as 2011 there shouldn't be a problem there. indeed a very strang crash!
Yet you can still try it. When you've reached the list of all the installed hardware, you select your sound card. and click deinstall. After a reboot of windows, the card will be automatically installed.
are you getting a "exception" when the error occurs, or did you just get "pcm2011 has stopped working"?

Oh, I see what you mean. I have re-installed the Audio card a couple times already actually, and update the drivers a few times too.
The error is "PCM has stopped working"

Okay, for everyone with the same problem as me, dont despair, a Focus Tech guy has told me they will be releasing a new update/patch either tommorow or Friday which I would assume atleast attempts to fix this problem.

Sorry if I seem like I'm spamming but I'm really pissed. Not only did the idiot on the Focus Tech team tell me "yes, but somehow the problem was fixed and your game should start now" but now they wont respond to my emails.
Right after I was told my game would work it (surprise) didn't start. I told the guy, you must be mistaken my game still doesn't start. I didn't get a response. Then last week I still hadn't heard anything so I sent him another message saying my game isn't working, still no response.
Now two days ago I sent him a message saying, I can try and help them with this problem but they have to respond, how am I supposed to know if future games will ever work, when I exceed minimum requirements for this version, yet a hidden requirement vital to the game functioning doesn't seem to be compatible. I asked if he had any more suggestions or if there was any way I could be some sort of guinea pig for them. I also asked if I should stop wasting my time with them and just buy a new computer, but so far I've had no response. I thought atleast they would tell me I should just give in and buy a new PC, but I guess even that is too much work for them.
So in total I've been lied to once and now ignored, and as a paying customer I feel I should have the right to know whats going on with my technical issues, which are in no way my fault, as the guy even said its a very strange problem.
