I don't wonder why there is no "excitement" for this
No trailer that shows the gameplay at least a bit, 5 photos of the "new" Tour de France game and not the "old" pictures
I've seen a gameplay video trailer but it's from the "old" version with the PCM2010 graphics and so.. I don't say anything about it as it's the old version
I think there won't be a demo as Microsoft just wants a demo for the Arcade games and not from full version game (optional)
Team Bianchi - 2012 Man-Game ProContinental Tour Champions
I seriously began to questioning the quality of this game when a member of the team behind the game said this:
"I hope that people for once stay away from that negative attitude and just wait to play the game to give an opinion, im sure the game will surprise most of you and even if it is limited and there are a lot of things that could be improved, please remember that this is only the first edition of a new game, it is useless to compare it to PCM which has been around for 10 seasons already. The game can only progress with the support of the fans, if you want to have a console version of a cycling game just make sure not to kill him even before it's out."
Not really that optimistic is it.

I think questioning the game at this point is pointless as we don't played it and I wouldn't think that it's already in a bad state but I hoped for something more, like creating an own rider etc. maybe copying a bit from the Konami TDF game (the good parts if it had some)
The member there can't really say don't compare this to PCM just about the "seasons" PCM already have, it's more on "creating a next-gen console game" and this is their 2nd (if you count in the PCM09 TDF arcade game) attempt and I think it can't be really worse then the first one
The graphics look a lot better even though compared to other games on XBOX 360 it's in the midfield not surprisingly good but not horrible like the arcade game
Playing the demo from PCM09 TDF Arcade.. I hadn't fun so I didn't buy it but I think this game could be diffrent
I can imagine that the TDF game could be diffrent there
But I can't see a "re-play abilty" as it's "just" the Tour de France
I will definetly play it but without a demo, I won't buy it for the full price as I never buy anything really blind for the full price (The only series I buy blind for the full price is Forza Motorsport) but maybe when it's at 30€

Sure, I agree about the lack of long term playability but I'm willing to put up with that. What I won't put up with is bugs, glitches and broken AI, so I hope the game is properly finished and not prematurely finished in time for the real Tour.

I have my doubts, but I'm happy to buy purely on the basis that it can't be worse than Tour de France on the PS2. I still own that piece of crap, the xbox live arcade game seems like a world apart.
I can't think of any first entry sports game that was particularly amazing though, they tend to get relatively better with time. Obviously some series are better than others to begin with, but progress is usually made (except PES). Hopefully it's good enough and sells sufficiently to warrant a sequel to see how Cyanide might develop it.
Although this is all speculation. Once we can actually play the game I'm sure everything will be quite apparent if we'll ever see a sequel or not
I happened to see the achievements for the game and they scare me a little. Some of them seem quite unrealistic, I'm still not sure whether I'll get this or not.

It's difficult to talk a lot about the game before anyone has played it, and with the limited info available, there's not a whole lot of stuff to debate either
My version for the xbox just turned up the graphics are amazing gameplay is a bit hard as you got to learn how to control your rider but another good feature is you can talk to fellow riders on your team and you ds which is a brilliant feature
"You will not be able to make your own rider. Instead, you will take over an existing rider on an existing team - and you will be able to "switch" riders from stage to stage. For example, you may want to control Petacchi on the flat stages and Scarponi in the mountains."

Do you have the game already? Well, make us some pics or write a review then
yhea i have the game i ordered it from shopto. you can chose from the start of each stage who you want to be in your team that day like 1 day the flat be swift then the next day you can chose wiggins for the mountains. The team time trial is awful though basicaly just leave your finger on 1 button and change your riders around and each stage takes about 20 minutes to complete so takes a fair bit of time but apart from that it is pretty good game reckon 8 out 10
I will most likely buy it for the PS3 because I won't be able to get the pc version this year. I really wish they had a demo because I think it will change a lot of peoples minds in a good way or bad. I'm still unsure but a demo could really influence me. If it turns out to be really good I might try to make a story.
I think someone already posted a video on youtube for the ps3 version.
gjack: what is that you find hard to understand about the controls ? In a deep level it works basically as PCM, is just that you use a different "interface" to control it, with different buttons and info on screen. The "only" real new thing compared to PCM in terms of controls is that you can move your rider laterally, something you can't do on the pc version.
Have you started a Tour or just played some spare stages ?
