New installation + keeping the savegame

Hi guys,
I need to reinstall my PCM. Am I right in the assumption that if I reinstall the game + the matching database and all that stuff, it should work to copy my savegames into the new folder?

Yes. Just backup the folder in my documents, where your save game is.

Then delete everything.

Install the game
-Patch
-DB
-Put the mydoc files back to their place.

I'd like to present you the problem which is the cause for the reinstallation:

As you can see, the game only displays the riders and the roads. The strange thing is: This happens only with a single database. the others work fine. As this is a "selfmade" database, I'd really like to keep it, so is there anything I can do about it?
