When you decide to buy a rider from a steal or from the free agent pool, you win the bid by offering the highest wage. My question is:
When the season has finished, will the wage of that same rider be re-calculated in terms of rider role, average ability a.s.o., or will the wage remain the one you "won" him for last season?
So - when you sign a rider in a no-transfer deal, is the wage you decide to give him to be seen as a signing-on fee or as the wage he'll earn in future seasons as well?
The way I think it shoul/will work is like you say. When you sign a rider for say 600k. Then the 3-400k of it is considered a sign on fee, and the rest regular wages. After all thats the way it work IRL.
It would also scupper the internal wage structure if it doesnt work like this. It would look odd for some mediocre free transfer rider to be payed more a year than a team captain.

Exactly. But as I see the rules, it seems more likely that the second option is the correct one. You could say that if a team is ready to pay 600k for a rider, he should be worth 600k - as a yearly payment as well. Market prize, simple as that.
I do like the first one the most, but it could make it too complicated.
And Bradley W would certainly love the latter...
If you swap a rider or buy a rider, they will have wages shown in the wage list for steals topic.
If you steal a rider, their wage will be the price you stole the rider for.
If you win a rider auction, their wage will be the winning price.
As far as next season is concerned, I believe their wages remain the same. The only thing I do know is that for the people who get half of the wages paid for a rider through a sponsor goal, they will have to pay the full wages next time.
I guess that the way it has to be to establish a free market. Then i suppose a major feature of next off season is going to be when existsing, SAFE, stars are going to be demanding "SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!"
Which will propably be good, to even the playing field a little via the money. (but then you must remember to reflect this in ourseason goals next year)
This could actually turn into a rather amusing Economic simulation given time...
