So the plan for my pcm 2011 story will be to make a story with riders from the pcm community aka. you make yourself as a rider, i've seen this done a few times before but I am never happy with the way the people choose their stats.
So I am asking you for what you think is the most fair, I am asking so early because I have exams from mid May to end of June so want to be be able to have my story as ready as possible for after that
Ok so the 3 ideas I have are : All riders have the same amount of points to spend on their attributes around 900 - 920
: You get an amount of points for your age and potential not sure of the exact numbers but e.g potential 8 850 points, potential 4 900 points etc but age would also effect
: People ask to be stage racer, sprinter, classic riders etc , obviously only a certain amount of people could be each one and they would receive an amount of points for whichever one they are e.g stage races get more points than domestiques obviously people wouldn't like to be domestiques which strikes me as the biggest problem with this one but it would be first come first serve to make it fair
Anyway hope you understand and leave a comment with which idea you think is best or leave a comment with a complete different idea yourself

To avoid the whole issue of people not wanting to be domestiques, why not start off as a CT team and a max stat of something like 75. More scope for multiple leaders, and it means youre not starting with uber-strong riders - so its up to the game development on who comes out best, and it at least retains an element of realism.

Well I don't see why I couldn't make it last seems like any other story with custom riders just hopefully will make people feel more into the game and get more involved in the story, ok so thinking same amount of points for every rider but a max of 75 on any stats, what are your thinkings on potential? and age?
I like the fact that everyone gets equal point totals. I assume most people will be young, but you also have to limit number of specialties. I think it would also be best if you have some real life riders fill in the domestique role becasue I'm pretty sure no one wants to play as the flat rider domestique.

Well if people have a maximum of 75 they can put in one stat then they can't be too specialised, and yes most people will b young but since it will be a video story like my last ones I doubt i will get more than one or two seasons through so the team won't become too overpowered.
Well I can be the flat domestique , and yes maybe some normal riders but depends on how many people want to be in the team as I may need all the spaces I can, or I may be filling up the majority with real riders if this flops
This has been done a few times before, if I remember correctly, and it hasn't lasted very long either. I don't know why though, it's a good idea and I'm keen to take part in it, but sadly I doubt it will catch on. I guess one of the problems might be the "thread starter" not getting any satisfaction of riding for riders who he has no affection for. You get a different view on things when you're winning with for example Boonen and Lance, than you would when you win with "some guy with a weird username".
Edit: A story like this would probably depend on a certain amount of participation by the community members who are involved. By that I mean a certain number of posts after each race, maybe a verbal pat on the back, if you catch my drift. If not, the thread starter might feel like he is doing everyone elses work, so to speak. If carried out in a good way, it could be a hit, though. Sadly, the figures beg to differ.

Yeah I can see where your coming from but I remember a thread starting with lots of members wanting to join but eventually it did not happen, I am riding with a custom team in my current story so don't think that riding with random people will be a problem though i hope for the members to use their real names as as you say user names would be a bit strange.
I am hoping to get people to say choose their stop 3 races that they would like to take part in and I wil strive to get the team in it, also say they can tell me in which direction they would like to go e.g a stage racer wanting more time trial abilities, and many other things similar to this, I hope to get the community really involved even letting other people be in different teams or creating a rival team with riders from the community if there are enough participants which I hope their will be
