Hi there
Do the routes for the major Tours repeat every season? I'm now in my second season and the route for the Tour de France is exactly the same as in 2010. I was hoping to play a long career save, so this is a little disappointing. Playing the same route every year is going to get a little boring.
Thanks

That depends on which DB you play, with the pcmdaily one the routes of the grand tours and some other stage races will change every year |

The DB doesn´t matter. You only need the variants and the routes will then change automatically as far as i know.

Also the new courses are announced a few days later. 6th of January I think. |

Well, I'm just using the default database at the moment, as this is my first save.
I am in the middle of the 2011 Tour and the route is exactly the same as in 2010. I'm not sure about the Giro and Vuelta as we haven't raced in them this year (we're a small-ish Continental team).
Is there any way that I can change the settings so that I get a different route in the 2012 season? |

in the original db, you can add varients but it's pretty difficult for people without any experience (and finding the varients can be difficult). it's easier to just go and download the pcm daily db and install that. |

What patch do you use?
Variants started to work with the 1.0.3.0 patch but we recommend 1.0.4.1 for single player games.
The variants you find in this forum or as overview in the official Cyanide forum.
But it might be easier to start a new career with a bigger DB, where everything is included like PCM Daily 2011 DB. |

I'm not sure what patch I use (how can I check?), although I think it must be the latest patch, 10.4.2.
Starting a new career isn't appealing as I have already invested a lot of time into this one! But I guess I will have to either do that or put up with the same routes every season? |

Presumably if I download a new DB I would need to start a new career too? |

Yeah you would have to start a new career.

New DB = new career
You can check the version of your game by right-clicking pcm.exe.
I would recommend to install this patch if you do not play online: https://www.pcmdai...hp?did=763
And it is possible to add variants to a started career. There must be instructions in this forum.

Thanks Lachi, and to everyone who has responded. I'll check my patch and have a look into adding variants into my existing career.
One more question:
If I download a new DB, can I still continue my current save with the original DB, as well as start a new career with the new one?

Yes, although some photos and jerseys may be changed

OK, great, I might try the PCM DB with my current save in that case. |

Roturn made a guide on how to add his Tour de France 2008 to an already started career. Obviously, most of it can also be used to add other variants:
