Just a quick question:
Do the rider stats evolve more the more races he attend (number of race days)? I'm in the end of current season and see no benefit of having my top riders attend more races (they've attended 65-75) since their forms are <70. But if they evolve more - that would be a reason.. |

The number of race days is totally unimportant for the evolution. No influence. |

Well my question is what does influence the growth of a rider?
What I've notice on some riders is if you get get racing results. Like for example I had Dan Martin for the Giro and got 4th and after he got a break he went fron 72 to 75 |

Potential and results. The higher the potential the faster the improvement and of course if you have success in races then you should improve. The key is potential and the room for growth. |

Actually I don`t think that the results have any effect. Also the room to improve is unimportant. You can have a U23 rider with 200 race days and he is still improving.
So it`s just the potential and the limits. If you check the DB you see the number of days until the next stat jump. These days doesn`t lower if you win something. Also the values for the specific stat evolutions aren`t influenced by results.

A rider will improve until he reaches the limits. (limit = stars in the game)
How fast the improvement will be depends on the trainer and an improvement factor of the rider. This factor is related to the potential of the rider. (you cannot see factor or potential in the game)
The improvement will not happen daily but in jumps. Some riders might improve every 60 days, some every 80 days. This does not mean that the first rider does evolve faster, it is just to make sure that not all riders improve a the very same day.
Race wins just increase the fatigue (who knows why this is, maybe missed sleep because of the many interviews?) but it has absolutely no influence on the stats improvement.
(You could test it by loading a weeklysave before the Giro and simulate it to make sure that Martin is not in the top 10. His stats will increase at the very same day and with the very same amount.)

Did you mean me with Giro and Martin?
Actually I thought exactly like you now said. Just potential and limits are important. |

Intresting stuff... how about trainers? Is legendary trainers worth all the money or is the national, international and regional trainers just as good? What do you earn on a better trainer with 10/10 in sprint instead of 8/10?

This is what impacts stat raises:
Riders potential (1 to 8, with 8 being best)
The random improvement factor mentioned by Lachi.
The trainer the rider has assigned.
And most importantly (for the speed of changes) is the evolutin value, set at start of the career, and possible to change in DYN_manager.
Edit: Forgot the stat limit! That's important, too!

I never knew that. You'd think results would play a role.

Sadly PCM 2010 is very rigid regarding improvment

Even in reality a good result will not make you physically stronger. The stats in PCM represent different aspects of the physical strenght, so I think it works quite well in the game. |

well I'm well past Giro know, I'm at the Tour and Andy Schleck is got a huge lead bc of the cobbles. But I see how the randomness of different days for each rider improving. I wish results would bplay a factor in it
