Fabian Cancellara looked super-strong in Ronde van Vlaanderen and animated the race, yet only managed to grab 3rd. If he can keep the form going until the Paris-Roubaix, he's the favourite once again.
Prior to the Ronde, Tom Boonen said that he still hadn't reached his top-form. He did manage to get 4th in the race, and with a few extra kilometres, he will be ready for Roubaix. It definitely looks like a duel between him and Cancellara.

Obv Bjarne Riis makes miracles once again. Larsson, Klostergaard or Mørkøv wins
A little more serious, i think Cancellara will win this one. Ahead of Boonen. Pozzato or Ballan third |

The Rabobank-team hasn't shown itself much yet, think we can expect something from them.
I think Garmin will try something too, because they missed their chance in the Tour of Flanders. Hushovd will have a great chance to win.'
I don't expect Cancellara to win, in Flanders he finally seemed to be human and coped with serious fatigue. Of course Boonen will do everything to beat Cancellara this time.
Also I expect Sylvain Chavanel to attack again. He was great last week.
We'll see.

I wouldn't expect Chavanel to do anything since he's not participating |

I really hope that Hushovd can show what he's made of. In the first classics this year he was hindered by a fall twice(!) and Garmin really screwed the pooch yesterday. |

Phinney to go from Paris-Roubaix espoirs to the actual Paris-Roubaix win (in consecutive years)?
unlikely
I think that Leopard's team is too weak for the cobbled classics (other than Canca and maybe O'Grady)
Think Garmin are set up for this (with Farrar, Hushovd, Haussler) - personally think they'll write for thor |

I hope for Hushovd (of course, I'm Norwegian) :-p But I'm worried as he stated in the norwegian press that he was simply out of power during the Ronde. Of course Paris-Roubaix wont be as hard imo, but then again that means everyone else will have more power aswell.
I could be boring and say Cancellara, but instead I decide to belive that we will get a small suprise winner, maybe from one of the "other" guys in BMC (not Ballan)

I would be astonished if Big George finally gets his big classic, and “the queen of the classics” shows him mercy for decades of loyal service. That would be justice served, but it is probably going to be a rider, who has already won before, that takes the race |

Canc will beat everyone. Instead from 60 km from the line, he'll start at 50km
I'm still routing for a boonen/vanmarcke win though.

Rain would be really great indeed, I feel we have had sun too often lately (in the cobble classics that is, except for then I prefer sun)
It's kinda evil to hope for rain, considering the increased risk, but it's the risk that makes cobbleraces so fun to watch

Gilbert, Chavanel and Nuyens are not racing P-R.
The weather forecast so far is sunny, with little/no rain at all. Things might change, its only a mere forecast for now.

Much less likely to be that close between so many at the end. Much more likely to be Cancellara. |
