Croatia hosted this year's World championships and will see one of the last national championships this year around. Waiting until the last minute has still not enabled reigning champions Robert Kiserlovski to join us the ex starbucks rider looking for a new Protour squad. It seems unlikely that Vesuvio favourite Kvasina will move though and perhaps Bacardi will retain Danculovic's services in the first season in the big leagues.
The parcours for this minor european nations then:
There is a number of fairly decent non contracted riders they are all wearing the Vesuvio colours today, how nice of them to lend out there bright red jerseys. Danculovic cannot go with the early pace and pretty soon it turns into a two horse race between Kvasina and Miholjevic.
With 50km to go Kvasina makes his move.
However rather surprisingly Miholkevic isn't beaten yet and comes back at Kvasina. The championship comes down to the wire as the under pressure Kvasina is forced to lead out. As they thunder down the last kilometer Miholkjevic tries to come around and he is coming and coming....
But the Vesuvio man holds his doppelganger in the same kit to take his national championships.
Result:
Rank Name Team Time 1 Matea Kvasina Vesuvio-Accumalux 4h18'15 2 Hrvoje Miholjevic Team 4 s.t. 3 Tomislav Danculovic Bacardi - Colt + 3'20 4 Radoslav Rogina Team 1 + 6'24 5 Zvonimir Pokupec Team 3 + 7'44 6 Kristijan Durasek Team 2 + 11'42 7 Vladimir Miholjevic Team 4 + 13'25 8 Robert Perusko THE CONTROLTEAM s.t.

Kvasina was in more confident mood in the TT, being in his national colours here as defending champ.
The time checks left no-one in any doubt.
Coming down the home straight he nearly catches his two minute man Danculovic, who had a pretty dismal TT.
So a very successful nationals for Vesuvio.
