Jukka Vastaranta (Pearl Adidas) is the star of Finnish cycling however it was Jussi Veikkanen
of Telenor who held the national colours in both the RR and TT disciplines this year.

They race over the same course as the Norwegians and the Swedes here:

It is flat but not flat enough to prevent the two stars Vastaranta and Veikkanen from going away with 90km to go to have a private contest.

The likes of Rajala (Falcon) were left behind and as we entered the latter stages reigning chamipon Veikkanen was hanging on.

But the Pearl Adidas rider was able to kick away under the 5 to go banner and easily take the RR Championships.

Veikkanen took his revenge in the TT, never looking threatened by Vastaranta or anyone else.
