Another smaller nation NC. This time it's Slovakia's turn. Huge favorite is Peter Velits. Jurco and Kovac are his main challengers. But the hilly course hugely favors Velits.

And the 3 big favorites immediately ride away from the rest in the first round.

After an 100km chase, 3 riders close down the gap.

Only for Velits to ride away on the last hill. He quickly opens a gap of a minute.

He wins comfortably. The other 2 favorites, Jurco and Kovac complete the podium.

Velits is the huge favorite in the TT aswell. He's also the reigning Slovakian TT champ.

He easily doubles up and extents his title.
