I was just playing Eneco Tour and a breakaway was getting away with the victory. Manuel Quinziato had attacked and had a lead of well over a minute with 5 kilometers to go, then all of a sudden he just stops and abandons the race. Is this normal behaviour? Did Cyanide add some function that randomly makes riders abandon without looking at their chance of winning a stage/overall or how does this make any sense?

i think he's injured. With me when a rider gets injured in a race the Game doens't show the crash the rider just suddenly stops.
I had the same problem with Henao in my career... He got injured without a crash. And on that stage many riders had to abandon because of crashes(which i could all see) but i never got a message that henao hit the road face down... Muscle injury, will miss about half the season...
But it seems to be a new feature cause i never had it before
I just checked and Manuel Quinziato is indeed injured. Fractured vertebrate, out for the rest of the season (start of November). It just seemed very weird that he stopped all of a sudden and that a crash didn't occur. Especially since he was leading the race and would've won the stage if he didn't crash. Interesting.
Those random injuries happen. And I do think they are more probable if you are attacking. That, or I'm very unlucky.

Well I wasn't actually controlling Quinziato. He did attack with about 10 kilometers left though, but the abandon didn't occur until there were about 4 kilometers left, so I don't think that should've affected it too much.
