Tunisia/Morocco/Egypt Championships 2011

For Tunisia, Hassen ben Nasser is absent so Telenor's Chtioui is the kay man. For Morocco, look out for Red Bull's Jelloul while Pendleton's U23 rider Moussa will hope to threaten. And for Egypt, full time Pendleton sprinter Cherif Abdallah is the favoruite.

A dangerous break went early with 1 from each nation: Moussa, Brini and El Hady. Egyptian Abdelmotelb spots the danger as the gap rises over 3 minutes and rides across - Chtioui is in his wheel, but not helping. The 5 lead by 3'40 but the duo representing the Moroccan national team dont like that there is only one Moroccan there, Moussa, and so Chaoufi buries himself on the front of the peloton and the gap is closed

Hasnaoui then attacks solo but doesnt get very far. He leads by 45 seconds when Jelloul and Chtioui drift away from the peloton

But while the two contracted riders arent really pushing, Hasnaoui is really going for it and his lead rockets up

With 55km to go, Hasnaoui leads by 11 minutes. Finally Chtioui realises the danger and attacks away from Jelloul

But it's too late, that gap wont be closed. Maher Hasnaoui is the Tunisian champion!

3rd place in the race is enough for Jelloul to take the Moroccan jersey
