Hey
well this transfer season is simply chaotic!
When is the deadline? I mean, we cant kep extending 48 hours very time another bid is launched- if we go like that this transfer season will never end...
I suggest at deadline of sunday evening at perhaps 21. And the winner is the manager with the highest bid post with a 20.59 in the timestamp..
Or perhaps a lter day if justin isnt home yet.,..

this indeed is a chaos... when I return tomorrow from school I think there will be at least 10 pages with topics to read through... if that goes on a week I'll be dead...
maybe you can close the transfer board untill justin is back... that would be fair to him... and we can think who we want quietly |

OK, we'll be taking a fairly long break to give this whole chaos some time to clear up and give you all time to calm down.
We'll begin our long break from 21:30 pm GMT today, and we'll reopen on Monday 27th August at 21:30 GMT.
You'll no longer be able to post, so no transfer activity at all.
Any discussions cannot include transfer agreements, you can just say you're interested in another rider - otherwise, you'll incur the penalty - you won't be able to get that rider, no matter what you offer
About the 48 hour rule. It will continue as if their was no break - it will be as if the time flicks from 21:30 pm GMT today to Monday 27th August at 21:30 GMT in one second.
Sorry about this, but its a bit too chaotic, you all need to cool off, and I'm not changing the length of this break

Hopefully not - the main point of this break is that lots of people were bidding wildly - paying much more than they should for riders. This should make them think

well the thing was, that other people where offering for riders they didnt need just to up the price, then let them have it, so the prices where escalating, especially some of the newer members and even some of the older ones who i thought better of

It seems to me that we have too much money to spend. I'm out 710,000 for Leif Hoste and I'm STILL able to bid in the 150,000-250,000 range for several riders. |

I know I was targeting some specific riders pretty hard, but I have nothing to gauge whether the price is too high or not as this is my first season. All I know is there was always someone there outbidding me

I think that everyone would just be cramming a bid in at the last possible moment. I would have everyone who is still interested at the deadline enter into a silent auction. Were everyone who is still interested hands in a secret bid which then whoever put in the highest bid gets the person.
All other bids just use the normal 48 hour wait and if no one has put in a higher bid they get their man and no need for the silent aucton.

I saw the format the Pro Tour used in drafting teams last year. We could have a draft order and rank our riders like they did.

i disagree with Fonz, but agree with Stemple and punka. It may seem like continental teams are spending too much, however if you consider me as an example:
Starting budget 2,500,000
subtract 5 original rider's salaries= 2,250,000
for the remaining 15 riders the average cost (salary and transfer fee) could be 150,000.
Assume a continental team will as mentioned in a few posts fill in roster with say 5 riders "cheaply" for say an average of 40,000.
This would allow for the remaining 10 rider's cost to be over 200,000 each.
Or you could spend as Punka did more of it on one rider and pay less for others.
Edit: The reason Continental teams seem to be overpaying is that Pro Tour teams look more to swap riders and pick up a few, not an entire team.
This budget seems better suited to continental teams like myself for a 25 rider squad, if you wanted lower prices. After this year the transfer windows will likely be more calm, but the influx of 47.5 Million euro/dollars from new teams was always going to skew the market. Also in my case goals to sign riders like Alexei Markov have caused one of my original salaries to be cleared. And with the addition of two others a second 50,000 would come off the books.
I hope i didnt completely blow my strategy, but what the hell.
In conclusion prices may have been higher than anticipated, however they don't seeem rediculous. Remember Free Agent riders naturally are overpaid as they are in most sport leagues, and rediculously overpaid in America. I think we should re-open later this week.
