Runtime Error

Hi, I have installed the PCM daily public beta (the 1st version) but cannot play 3D stages. Everytime I try to load a stage, I get a "runtime error" message and the game crashes. What do I do? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am very new with PCM.  |

I have read that thread before, but unfortunately it didn't work. I'll reinstall in the right folder again and see what happens  |

After reinstalling once again I don't get the "runtime error" anymore, but still the game crashes when I try to play a 3D stage. What to do?  |

Well, the solution is the same. If it doesn't work, you haven't installed it to the correct folder. I can't help you more than what I said in the thread I linked to. |

Hi, it does crash while loading when it comes to "stream read". But this is getting more and more confusing to me because sometimes I still get the "runtime error" and sometimes it just crashes, but it happens at the same part of the loading process. And guess what, an hour ago I was able to play the Milan-San Remo, but when I try again it failes everytime! |

Did you install the patch 1.4.0.1?
Did you ever play the game with the original DB?

No, I updated directly from 1.0.3.0 to 1.4.0.2. Do you think I shall install 1.0.4.1?
Yes I did play the game with the original DB, and I'm still able to do so. Thanks alot for helping me  |

This must be an installation problem. You could try to download the latest DB package "PCM.daily's 2011 DB (Full)" if you haven't yet. It contains all files you need and you only have to make sure to install it into the correct folder.

About the patch: You should use 1.4.0.1 unless you play online via Game Center

Unfortunately still doesn't work. I have now downloaded he full version and use patch 1.0.4.1, still I get runtime error and other crashes while loading 3D races Though sometimes I'm able to play some of the classics. I'm 95% sure that I have installed everything in the right folders, and cannot really imgaine how to do it in another way than what I have done. (just followed the installation guide). |

You could try to intall the DB to some other folder, then move everything to the game installation folder manually (CTRL+A, CTRL+X, CTRL+V, if you know what I mean)
But if you are sure that the installation was OK, then make sure that the local.cdb is OK. If the local.cdb is not OK, you might see pink flags or strange scouting zones.
I had to manually copy the local.cdb from the "Backup" folder (cannot remember the name, was installed with the DB) to all occurances of that file (game folder and my documents, search for it) |
