Hi - I have spent some time perusing through the various database threads and I can't really find what I am looking for. Its probably a really simple answer but here goes.
I bought the game last year sometime, and it sat on my shelf for months. In January I started playing it, and I pretty much havent put it down since. Is there an easy update/upgrade that I can get which will automatically update the team names, shirts and riders to the real names. ie car&velo and Neilstrung etc....
Also if I am able to apply such an update, would I be able to continue the season that I am playing from where I am, or would I need to restart a brand new game?
Installing a database will not update your career, so you would have to start a new career after you installed a DB.
This game comes with a database editor, you could use that to correct all names in your career manually.
Or you could use the "Full Editor" from cyanide and Excel from Microsoft and then merge your career database with the real name database found in the cyanide forum. (You would have to ask somebody else for detailed instructions how to do it.)
I think it would be best to download the latest database from pcm-daily and start a new career because then you start with the real teams from 2011.
Thanks for your reply Lachi - I have another question. I have installed the latest patch 1.0.4.2, but I have since learned of the bug problem with the sprints. I therefore want to either rollback or install patch 1.0.4.1 on. Is there a way I can do this without having to reinstall the game.
I know you it physically lets you apply the 1.0.4.1 patch after installing the 1.0.4.2 patch, but I am not sure what version of the game this makes it, as I don't know if it leaves residual tracings of the later patch?
The reason for me not wanting to uninstall and reinstall is because I did an experiment on another PC, and for some reason when I try and install the game from scratch from the CD, it does not install properly and it comes up saying that 2 files are corrupt (even tho I have uninstalled the game totally, and cleaned up the installation directory).
Sorry Roturn - U mean just install the patch named "Setup-Patch-1.0.4.1-From-1.0.0.0" - This will effectively write over whatever version I have installed right?
