I've always loved realistic results in PCM, I could sacrifice my chances of winning a race just to make a race more interesting and more realistic. Something that bothers me though is races on gravel roads, for example Strade Bianche. Everytime it ends in a mass sprint. Even if I enter it with the best possible hill riders to keep the pace up it's still gonna be around 30 riders in the end sprinting for victory.
On to my question, is there anyway for me to edit something to make riders more fatigued from riding on gravel, or is it a part of the game mechanics?
Since I assume it isn't possible I'm gonna follow up with another question.. Is there any other way to make the results more realistic? Change of wind conditions or possibly changing the profile from hilly to mountain? Maybe something else that is easily editable in the database?
It`s quite hard. I never used the gravel in the editor. So I don`t really know how it works. Is it just a texture but same fatigue niveau than normal roads or is it a mix of cobbles and asphalt?
Would have to try this first. But I think it`s just a normal road with another texture.
If so it`s almost impossible to make it more realistic as you would need a setting to have a relation between apshalt and cobbles like there is one between hill and mountain.
Luckily there aren`t many races with gravel, so it`s not that important I think, but it`s a pity that the Eroica for example can`t be raced that much realistic.
BTW. No time for stake making in the next 3 weeks with too much work until the evening.
Then the 2011 PT classics will come first

I just ran it with a hill/mountain ratio of 50.. I entered with Saxo Bank on PCMdaily's 2010DB and it ended up in a sprint between 42 riders, all with a mountain stat above 70. 43rd place was Bole, also the best rider under 70 mountain.
Something I did notice was that Andy and Fränk were both pretty close stat-wise when it comes to mountain and hill but since I had random form on Fränk had about 8 points higher, so I expcted Fränk to be better. On the gravel roads though he was struggling more than Andy. I assume that is because of his lower cobble stat.
It's still not the optimal result though, as mentioned above. There is a selection and probably a more realistic winner but alot of riders that would be able to pull off a good result in reality wouldn't be able to finish within the first group when I put all my helpers in front to make the race as hard as possible. In the end I even put the Schlecks up front but there was still 42 riders fighting for the victory.
I guess it's nothing to do about it, it's better when Seeldrayers win (like now) than some random sprinter on a small team with 70-75 sprint stat, but that would also be more likely in a career when the teams that race it aren't as good as my simulation.
