Adding equipment help
Jaywol
Hi, hope someone can take a look at this and tell me where I'm going wrong. Have added some Derosa and Cannondale frames and Campagnolo wheels using Lachis editor v6. The equipment shows in the game, but when I try to select it the game crashes. I've included my local and saved game CDB's. Thx in advance, Jaywol.
Jaywol attached the following file:
local_3.cdb [1.07MB / 64 Downloads]

Sorry, here's the save game.

I am not very used into equipment stuff. But I always do it in a different way.
I check in STA_equipment what the old frame is called like and then I rename the new frame like this one.
Then load the NIF file with the NIF viewer and choose the right -d,-n,-s files and save.
Works perfect.

KenL explained this way somewhere I think.

I have followed Fenian's adding equipment tutorial from the 2008 d/b forum.

I have no knowledge about editing DBs, I only can program editors (and of course can edit save games)

Ok thx, no worries.

I might as well ask here instead of creating a new thread.

I recently made a few minor equipment changes in my savegame. Just replacing a few filenames. For some reason, a lot of the TT equipment (not all) lost their "1" in the TT column. When I edit it back to TT and save the .cdb, it won't be saved. It's still not described as TT when I load the .cdb again, and ingame, some riders have TT helmets in road stages (a natural consequence).

I'm using Hannes Converter. I've used it countless times to edit savegames, and never experienced any trouble like this.

Even if you've used Hannes Converter countless times, you really shouldn't be using it on PCM10. This sounds like something caused by it.

Use Lachi's Editor for save-games, Full Editor for DBs.

Ah, forgot to say. I'm using it on PCM09. Forgot this was the '10 forum Embarassed

Even so, try using a different editor Smile

Tried Lachi's editor, and it seems to be working now. Must have been a bug with Hannes. But the Lachi-edited savegame seems to have a much smaller filesize. Nevertheless, everything looks to be okay with it. Is Lachi's supposed to shrink the file?

I think its just that Hannes makes the file a lot bigger, while Lachi's doesn't and/or does make it smaller.
I seem to remember hannes made the file sizes much bigger atleast.

Hannes Converter unpacks the cdb file and "forgets" to pack it again. When you advance a day in the game, it'll be packed again and return to normal size.

Either way, it doesn't make a difference.

I mainly shrink heads, but I do some files now and then as training.
