Do anyone know how to change the stages from PCM.daily's 2011 DB Public Beta out with the stages there is in the real game?
I don't think the stages from M.daily's 2011 DB Public Beta is that good... |

yeah....
sorry, but i really don't think the stages they made is good.. way to much curves, to much forest, the mountains goes up and down, and the road is WAY to small, and therefore the main group splits all the time...

You could also see that as a fault with the normal Cyanide stages. Imo there cant be too much of anything, so just turn down your graphic settings if its a problem or if it looks "too" realistic for you. As for the mountains going up and down its quite hard to fix because sometimes you get errors with the editor for having too much slope, or having a road too close to another and things, so really, we try our best.
And if you dont like the stages play some french db, with just teams and stat updates.

so why did you even install the pack ? I also don't like every stage/variant but without them the game is just boring |

I just don't like the stages... i know it is difficult to make stages, but i just think the stages from the "official game" is a lot better.
I don't want to criticize your database to much, because I think everything besides the stages is VERY nice |

The original game has ~100 profiles played in ~400 stages. So several races have exactly the same profile.
I agree with you that some stages aren`t very good but actually much much more than the official game.
The only way to get the old stages back is to edit almost all hilly stages to the GP_Plouay stage or Tirreno stages. Mountain stages will be edited to Burgos stages...
Then you have 100 good quality stages for 700 races
Doesn`t sound better for me than having 700stages for 700 races, where 50 aren`T good.

The stages have not been done by CrueTrue, so you are not criticizing him but rather the stage makers.
You could criticize that CrueTrue did not try out every stage. But i am sure that you have not done that either, so what make you believe that all added stages are worse than the original ones?
BTW: it is very easy to change the stages, just move STA_race and STA_stage from the official DB and then fix the missing links to the removed IDs. (to be done with the full editor) |

Not all the stages are worse than the origininal ones, but I think a lot of then is - espacially the mountain stages with way to much small roads and the mountains don't got any rhythm, because they goes up and down, and curves all the time.. It gives a very weird race.
I will try to change the stages then. |

But then you might want to install just a real name database, where nothing but the names are changed.
The PCM Daily DB has more teams than the official one. But if you now take STA_Race and STA_Stage from this one like Lachi said, there are way to less races for all the teams.
So I would change the stage_file names to Cyanide existing ones and just make sure that hilly stages keep hilly stages and the new dates like gene_uphill_spriunt, gene_f:mountain or gene_length_stage... This is much more work then but you still have enough races for all teams.
Your decision. |

But all other databases use the same stages as the stages are made by the international community and then used for all DB`s. Maybe some stages are exclusive for one db but this won`t the in general.
So as said just a rename DB without any new stuff like teams or races at all could suit you if you want the Cyanide DB. |

If I were you, I'd do like Lachi suggested and perhaps remove a few teams (especially the British and American ones). |
