Hi I'm trying to download expansion V2 so I can then download and add the 2011 database once it's complete but it's taking for ever.
Typical download speed is less than 10kb/sec using Utorrent and even slower using flashget. At this rate it's going to take days to download not hours.
Is there a mirror with a faster download somewhere or better still can someone in the UK send it to me on a DVD?
I recently downloaded another game which was three files totalling about 3.5mb that that only took a couple of hours using the standard Windows download tool so I'm not sure why this is so slow. |

Try Vuze. I used that and I think it is fastest.

Thanks for the tip but Vuze is downloading at 2kb/sec. ETA is currently 20 days!
Am I doing something wrong I have never downloaed Torrent files before? |

It's a 3,5 gb file, it will take a while, especially if you have slow internet - maybe download it over night |

If it takes you a couple of hours to download around 3,5MB, don't be surprised if it takes much longer time to download 3,5GB.
After all 1GB is around 1000MB.

Strange. I downloaded on Vuze last week and it took 4 hours.

My mistake it didn't take a few hours to download 3.5mb, that was supposed to say 3.5Gb, i.e. the size of this file. I don't have a slow connection here. I don't understand why it's taking so long to download. Every download manager I have tried has stated days not hours.
Can anyone please send it to me on DVD, I will pay UK postage.

Did you give it a couple of hours? With torrents, it does sometimes take a while before it begins working properly (e.g. not enough peers, etc.).
It can be a better of your firewall blocking the traffic - or perhaps your network ISP if you're on a public network of some sort.
I don't want to annoy you with all kind of directions on how to open up for your firewall, since it's quite a lot of hassle if you're not a technical user, though.
I'm not sure whether this is a option, but if you're interested in the 2011 teams, wait a couple of days (max) for the PCM.daily 2011 DB. It will be released in a self-extraction file that's split into several different files and uploaded to file uploading sites (in addition to one single torrent, but that's not an option for you, it seems). |
