Its the final race of the U23 Division and its still all to play for - in terms of Individual title, Team title, and the battle for the Top 5 teams and an Avenir place. Oh yes, and those who simply want to win this race.
Our other flat classic was won by the breakaway - so attacking turns out to be popular today. Juul-Jensen, Boivin, Brown, Nystrand, Batchelor, King, Cabrera Gonzalez, Ajpacaja, Sortveit, Novak, Fedorov, O'Shea, Khalilikhosroshani, Che Samsudin, Belohoubek, Da Luz, Anguillet and Hasibeder try first - a group of 19. But Red Bull, Bacardi and Quiksilver chase it down.
And so more moves - many of those first attackers going again. Hasibeder, King, Da Luz, O'Shea, Mathiesen, Novak, Sortveit, Moazzemi, Batchelor, Nystrand, Anguillet, Boivin, Roduit and Ajpacaja.
Then Mas, Bravo and Gmelich.
Then Snape, Tommersen and Stokstad.
Lechuga and Tiffany join in.
And here they are: (Altthough Tiffany is unable to make the junction, and Tommersen is dropped)
Moussa, Schaffer and Navid are the final 3 to attack, they pick up Tiffany and look to join up with the other attackers. Here with 103km to go, they are 2 minutes away from the front group, and 3 minutes ahead of the peloton.
The chase is soon on though, with Red Bull and Bacardi - with Quiksilver helping out aswell
By 63km to go, Navid has made it up to the front group. He has dropped Moussa, Schaffer and Tommersen though - and those 3 have been caught by the peloton. Meanwhile, Sortveit has also been dropped by the break and caught by the peloton - who trail by 2 minutes 40
Ajpacaja and Nystrand are dropped by the break, and caught by the peloton. 40km to go, a lap of 1'40, and new attacks! Skogen, Lloyd, Khalilikhosroshani, Tiffany and Azizov.
That doesnt work though, so Bras, Van Epoel, Tedros, Vassdal and Gauer attack instead. And theres attacks up front now aswell, Roduit going clear.
Yamaha, Festina and Pokerstars are now the ones chasing in the peloton as Poisson, Gilannipoor, Michely, Coelho and Pereira are new attackers
They dont get anywhere either though, while theres been a chance at the front. Roduit has been brought back into the larger group, so now Da Luz and Boivin are clear, with a gap to Mathiesen. The other 15 are soon to be caught by the peloton as Bar attacks - countered by Vandoussellaere!
Stamsnijder, Goodfellow and rankings leader Gilannippor also attack. Da Luz and Boivin's lead is no more, as Bar and Stamsnijder take over with 20km to go
Vandoussellaere, Gilannipoor, Goodfellow, Da Luz, Mathiesen and Boivin are in the next group - but Stamsnijder and Bar work well extending their lead from 20 seconds to 40 seconds in the next 4 kilometres. Vandoussellaere puts the hammer down then, looking to drop the others.
Also putting the pressure on is Bar, and Stamsnijder is beginning to struggle
The group behind are a minute down, and caught by the peloton - but Vandoussellaere is still holding out, just keeping ahead
10km to go, Bar leads Stamsnijder by 25 seconds. Thats already up to 29 seonds when the Dutchman passes. Vandoussellaere is 37 seconds later, the peloton at another 40
Vandoussellaere being helped here by his team, with Novak on the front slowing things down.
5km to go, Bar now leads by 50 seconds.
Vandoussellaere has caught Stamsnijder, and 36 seconds later its the pack. Evidently Pokerstars have aspirations for grabbing the overall Division triumph here as Lodewijk leads Wagemans, Keukeleire and Drapac. Also close, as ever, are Bezemer and Van der Sanden
Bar is still going strong up front, and with Vandoussellaere opting simply to take Stamsnijder's wheel, his lead goes up to 1 minute
Lodewijk meanwhile highlights the strength of Pokerstars today, pulling away from the field
Bar is into the final kilometre, and the sprint is going off behind
And Vandoussellaere quickly jumps away from Stamsnijder
He has ridden well, but not as well as this man - Jocelyn Bar wins the race!
2nd for Vandoussellaere - and he will therefore win the Individual Standings for the division
Stamsnijder holds on for 3rd ahead of the fast finishing Keukeleire and then Wagemans
Drapac in 6th, had a poor sprint having been positioned well, with Holt taking 7th in a decent showing for YouTube, Rudling being 9th.
