The hills in the first section are tough and so it could be difficult to keep things together - though it does look set to finish in a group sprint just who will be in that group is anyones guess. Bennati is looking for a double win in Paris a couple of his challengers from the tour Van Stayen, Vanderbiest, Granjel Cabrera and Hoffman are here.
Other teams however have favoured their punchaers with Frank Schleck, Tejay Van Garderen, Sinkewitz, LL Sanchez, Sanchez Gil and Vanendert just some of the names present.
France welcomes wildcards El Al with much interest as they have bought their best French stars along.
A number of the riders involved here will be jetting off to China for the 2nd annual...
Badaling International
I believe this circuit is based losely on the Olympic games one used in China, needless to say it is in China (I think) and it climbs up to the great wall and down again on a hilly 25 or so km circuit.

One for the punchaers and of course the startlist is littered with them:

Yes Giro and Amstel Gold champ Cunego is here and most would say that he is going head to head with 'La Doyenne' winner Schleck and Fleche Wallone winner Boesson Hagen. We also have Grand Duche winner Yuri Trofimov, Festina duo Sanchez Gil + Ulissi, Bakelandts, LL Sanchez and talented American Van Garderen.
This certainly should be a battle royale here and perhaps an early indicator the season finale in a couple of months time.
Petronas - possibly to disband are here to give their top 10 Continental stars an outing in the Protour.
EDIT: My schedule here then...
Tuesday evening- Siene-Marne-Siene
Wednesday evening - Badaling International

It will be interesting to se how Siene-Marne-Siene plays out with its flat rating and long flat run to the finish. I opted not to send Trofimov there because of the uncertainty in which type of rider is best suited for the race.

I have Samuel Sanchez Gonzalez and not Sanchez Gil... He is called Luis Leon...
The first one could be a huge disaster for my team... The 3 generated favorites are all very close to me in the PT rankings... Hopefully some hilly riders will get away and stay away to take the first 10+ results...
Sammy Sanchez away in the break and Ulissi to fight for grabs would be the best possible solution. the second race is probably a normal hilly race where Sammy could do quite well...

Maybe my sprint duo (Sieberg and Van Stayen) can bring a quality result SMS.

If its a hard race, my hope would be for Schleck to come into play like when this was the Worlds. But that was PCM06, and in PCM09 last year we had a 92 man group - so if thats the case Id hope to see Iglinski near the front when the sprint begins and try to get something from there, rather going in the day long break again.

Looking forward to the Seine race tonight. I have no clue what to think of it... Actually I can't understand why I didn't bring Bewley :-/

Maybe Bewley will be missed, but Ulissi tends to be good in the sprinting Puncheur role, be a surprise if he doesnt make Top 10 imo.

Obituries for Starbucks perhaps a bit premature?
With a writer eagerly waiting to bring the Asturias stage race to us, I have bought forward the Badaling circuit race to tomorrow evening.
Congrats to dave92's wikipedia squad that was a fine attack by Tejay!

A shame that Rodriguez crashed in the end, but I guess it was my time to finally experience a crash |

Awesome to see this race tear to pieces, and a brilliant 3rd place for Schleck. Dissapointing that Iglinski missed the front group though, he has the ability to have managed it, I guess just not the form on the day.
Elsewhere, Festina seemed to have scored well - but bit of a disaster for Energie to have had 2 guys in the front group, and both brought down. Well done to El Al aswell, getting a Top 10.
And interesting to compare with last year. Baugnies, 4th last year, 11 minutes down this year, for example.

This really is an excellent route, also an excellent race.

Well, seem like Trofimov would have been pretty suited with this outcome . Too bad that Ballan fell, he could have ended up on the podium. Still, two riders in the top 10, not bad at all.

A disaster indeed. Of the 5 riders who fell down in the last lap 2 we're END's riders. Zaballa and Vicioso down in the final lap wasn't really in my plans. We better stop with the unlucky stuff and start making some results fast for the sake of our ProTourship. My only luck is that LLS is always there to save our asses.
Nevertheless a very interesting race. The fact that none of the sprinters made it to the end within the first group ignited a great finish for this nice race

OMG! What a showing from Festina here... Can I hear again that people doubt that my hilly TEAM isn't the strongest :-P
Nah seriously this was amazing, and just what we needed to get a gap from some of the other contenders... Wiki and Vesuvio outdoing me, but besides that I think I outscored everyone else!

So, that sucked...
Before the TDF I was sure about the top 10 in the team rankings. Now, I'm not that sure we can hang in there

Youre underestimating your haul a bit there. You got 220, Wikipedia 235, Vesuvio 159.

How can Wikipedia only get 235? Don't they get 220 for the win? And then 5 for each rider making the race?
