From Germany to Switzerland, and a hilly classic. Favourite here as Vandoussellaere, having come so close to winning the Sachsen Tour, Costa, Moscariello, Lund, Bar, Pereira, Roe and Khalilikhosroshani. Also tipped to be up there are Klimiankov, Herrada, Vysna, Keukeleire, Sachsen tour winner Kiprotich, Da Luz, Bravo and Michely.
9 laps to contest, and by the next we have an 11 man breakaway - Sgrigna, Moussa, Fedorov, Goodfellow, Tenzon, O'Neill, Lehtomaa, Bekloviev, Dronin, Cerveira and Paquet
On the 5th lap, they lead by 4 and a half minutes, and on the tougher climb Herrada attacks. Just over a lap later, he makes it up to the break - although now the lead of the break is down to 2 and a half minutes
Later in the lap, Roe also launches an attack - and he too takes a lap to get across. Gap down to 2 minutes.
The problem for Roe though, was that as he got on the back, Bekboliev and Goodfellow got dropped. By the time he got past them and he was no longer with the break. 20km later and he is back in the peloton - a reduced peloton though, just 63 riders left.
The gap for the break is dropping, minute and a half but could soon be less. Some of the break therefore try to attack - copied by some in the peloton, initially Gmelich of Jack Wolfskin
Moore, Costa, Navid, Bravo, Michely, Williamson, Mas, Eijssen. They all try, but like Gmelich, they all fail to get clear of the peloton. More change up ahead though, Italian climber Tenzon has left the race behind
The peloton: stretched, but not split.
Fedorov, Moussa, Sgrigna and Dronin are the only other 4 breakaway riders remaining clear. Tedros launches a move from the peloton though, as Costa tries and fails to respond
Tedros is brought back anyway, along with that group of 4, and now a new move - Vysna launches away with Michely looking to respond
Doesnt work either though, and so we approach the last lap. Tenzon is set to be caught by a 41 man peloton (although 2 more have been dropped by the time he is caught)
Theres 2 climbs on the lap, as always, the first being the toughest. But not much is happening
And so onto the descent, thats a bit dissapointing
But what's this, Vandoussellaere has been dropped! Bad news for Pokerstars, and Novak, Lodewijk, and Belohoubek immediately drop from leading the peloton, to helping him back
6km to go and finally, Gmelich launches an attack
Jeanneret, and Monsalve respond - but dont get a gap like the Dutchman - so now it's Williamson's turn
Now, Pereira, Vysna, and Khalikhosroshani
These 3 pass Williamson and catch Gmelich, just in time, as we're into the descent
Williamson is in the next group, with Kiprotich, Eijssen, Tedros, Gilanipoor and a Pokerstars rider. Surely not ... it's Vandoussellaere! Evidently he has not only rejoined the peloton, but felt able to attack aswell
Closing in to the finish then, can Khalikhosroshani become the 2nd Iranian to win an U23 classic? It looks like Gmelich is slipping out of contention
He leads off the sprint, but Vysna remains close
It's going to be close...
And Vysna just edges past right before the line to take the win, a triumph for the Slovakian
Next our 2 previous race winners continue their run of form - Kiprotich taking 5th, Gilannippor 6th, before the other 4 round out the Top 10
