Year 2017, my Orbea team is wanted to win the Giro. I have one good rider that I signed as a young promise long ago and now is 83 mountain 76 hill 80-81-82 sta-res-rec and a bad cri, but I took him to a clinic and now he is 73.
Well... i began the Giro and, curiously, I realized that the other teams have't send any real rival to this race. So at stage 11 I was 5 minutes over the rest of them. It was a walk, so I started simulating and next stage he crased and arrived 8 minutes later, so I was 3 minutes behing.
Perfect, i thought, now there is a fight. But it seems that the simulator forced too much my rider and next stage he couldn't manage to follow the other rider at mountains. I had a helping rider on him, but as this rider's bars remain perfect, the red and yellow bar of my best rider went down. So I decided to slow down and wait for the next day.
Now I'm 10 minutes behing and I started the next mountain stage just to see if he is in better shape, but he is not, so maybe I will lose another 5 minutes at least. I turned it off and I'll play this stage again today.
Is said in the manual that, when the green bar is empty, you will start the next stage with this bar lower, ok, but I slowed down the next stage and finished with this bar at good level and he still in bad shape.
I will wait until the next "rest day", wich is after the mountain stage I mentioned before, and lets see if he manage to recover and win 15 minutes against this riders who aren't very good, but not that bad to lose this amount of time.
According to his status, my rider is ok for the competition. No contusions found or not reported at least. But his red an yellow bars go down very quiickly. For instance I give him a helping rider and I use the "dot" at 93% and he loses both bars in a blink but the helping rider who is in front of him is perfectly fine.
My only doubt is if this "problem" will remain after the "rest day".
