The steep finishing climb in Varese will undoubtedly decide this race - but can this race be more than that 1 climb, and provide action throughout?

Your favourites for the day include Ricco, Gilbert, Ginanni, Pozzato, Monfort, Ponzi and Efimkin. It is sure to be a tightly fought battle.

There is a breakaway, of course. Tolleson, Grippo, Urtasun and Cleaver.

They lead by 3 and a half minutes with 80km to go, as Dan Martin, Wyss, Zaini and Albasini all attack the Vespa and Bacardi led peloton

10km later, the gap is bridged

The 4 attackers soon drop the initial break, and in turn the initial break is caught by the pack - now led by Wiggle

40km to go, the gap is barely over a minute

They fight hard though, but ultimately in vain. Caught with 16km left

Into the final 5km, Mercedes and Bacardi are heading affairs

And its Ghyllebert in the lead with barely 3km to go, we are onto the climb

But now Ponzi comes through, closely tracked by Gilbert

And now all riders are off in the charge to the top, Gilbert, Efimkin and the Lego duo Monfort and Claeys lead the chase of the Italians

Into the final kilometre, Ricco is creating a gap over Ponzi here

While Ginanni has evidently done it again - poor positioning costing him as he is if not the fastest, then equally as quick as Ricco, and now looks to make his through inbetween some Lego

But round the turn and has Ricco gone too soon? Ponzi now has the faster speed, and is closing

We reach the top of the climbing, the final few hundred meters flatten out, but its neck a neck between Ricco and Ponzi once again

But just as Ponzi looks to have stolen it, Ricco finds that extra gear and finds the acceleration required to hold him off, and win the Tre Valli Varesine!
