Stage 13 and the epic Seirra Nevada should satisfy all of those who are diassapointed with the time gaps so far, Schleck needs to go big today, he's still 2 minutes back and Valverde has been eating up the bonus seconds, as Such Intxausti needs to watch out if he wants to be able to keep the lead until tomorrow. Contador may well show something other than petulance today if he goes for his own victory, while Rujano has been climbing brilliantly, can he keep it up?
We start climbing straight away today so lets watch the start
Attacks go from the gun and our lead four: Fernandez Oliveira, Taberlay, Sibila Romero and Valls were all on the attack yesterday as well
Cohnen is just behind them and joins on the decent
Up climb 2 a You tube twitter have kept the break close enough that Txurukka can attack, looking for the mountains jersey
Loads follow him
This leads to an increase in pace and the loss of 80 riders out the back, although after most attackers are caught the pace slows again
Over the top Valls leads with Fernandez Oliveira and Taberlay
Txurukka and Sibila Romero just behind
Then Di Gregorio, Thaux, Rojas Villegas, Cohnen and Rangel all solo, with the peleton at 5'20"
Di Gregorio, Rojas Villegas and Thaux all join by the sprint point
Txurukka attacks to claim the mountain points, although it's pointless as the peleton have this break under control and the 40 points for the summit mean the leaders will keep the jersey
As Di Gregorio leads Valls and Sibila Romero sthrough the final sprint point the break has 50km to go and a 4'30" advantage, no chance with the climbing to come
Trofimov tries an attack on the penultimate rise, his early attack worked last time, so why not try again
This is the steepest it gets today, and Tenorio attacks, still 30km to go
He combines forces with Trofimov
On the brief decent they take no risks, and the gap is back to 30 seconds
20km to go and the advantage is holding, although the peleton is still large
Tenorio decide to attack up to the break, where Thaux is waiting for him
He makes it to them, so Fernandez Oliveira and Di Gregorio attack
Madrazo and Amador attack the peleton
So do Abal and Arroyo
Over the mountain points half way up the climb it's Tenorio from Txurukka and DiGregorio
Trofimov 47 seconds back with Amador on his back wheel
Then Abal, Arroyo and De la Fuente just behind
And the peleton, crossing at 1'37"
Arroyo is the strongest attacker and pushes on
While it's now Brajkovic and Contador who attack, is Schleck having a bad day?
Brajkovic pulls back the leaders, Contador and Rujano go for it
Tenorio tries to follow, as Contador goes into the lead
Rodriguez Oliver is setting a good pace and pulls back Brajkovic, Intxausti and Valverde are just watching one another
Tenorio goes past Rujano, but Contador is clear
Rujano is pulled in by De la Fuente, AMador and Abal
while as we approach the 10km banner Contador has been passed by Tenorio
He's pedalling squares as De la Fuente brings him back as well
Rodriguez Oliver is still on the front of the peleton, who are just 24 seconds behind the chase group and a minute off Tenorio
Contador drops back to the peleton, Madrazo must have called for help
8km to go and Txurukka finally lets go of the wheel in front, he's done a monster ride today
Rujano attacks, Lopez Garcia is first to respond
Perez Cuapio also atacks, and now Valverde makes his move
Arroyo and Intxausti counter, this is it
Abal has managed to ride De la Fuente off his wheel now, but he is still 45 seconds behind Tenorio
Schleck attacks now, as Intxausti is stuttering
Arroyo and Valverde catch Abal and Amador
Intxausti digs deep to follow
Abal, Schleck and Amador try and go too
Again, Intxausti rides Valverde down, will this guy ever crack?
Abal, Arroyo and Schleck come back to them
Schleck pushes on, so Intxausti has to follow, Tenorio is being reeled in
As Plaza, Karpets and Pellizotti make it up to them, Schleck, Intxausti and Valverde go clear
2.5km to go and the 3 strong men are almost in the lead
In fact Schleck is fading, while the other 2 ride away
Schelck grits his teeth and tries to get back on terms, Tenorio seems to be holding the advantage ahead of them
Schleck goes past, Arroyo gets up to them, will Schleck get a gap?
Both Intxausti and Valverde respond, it's punch and counter punch today
Intxausti seems to be struggling as the final kilometre approaches
Valverde moves into 2nd, just 12 seconds behind Tenorio
Intxausti is back at Schleck, he needs Valverde though
The sprint starts with Tenorio holding a tiny lead
Valverde moves up to him
and into the lead, Intxausti needs to get 2nd now to hold the golden jersey
It's tight,
Valverde takes stage win 3, Intxausti is second, Schleck 3rd.
Tenorio deserved more than 4th, another effort in these mountain cut short in the final metres
The time gaps are bigger this stage, Arroyo gets 5th 40 seconds down
Then Pellizotti, Contador, Abal, Lopez Garcia and Karpets at about a minute
Plaza, Amador and Anton are 10 seconds later
Then De la Fuente, Rujano, Brajkovic, Madrazo and Vasquez
Trofimov is really struggling today and looses 2'41" to fall out of the top 10
So Valverde gets the win and moves within 1 second of the lead, Schleck is up into third, while Tenorio's ride gets him into the top 10, join us tomorrow for the final summit finish, Valverde's been closing, can he take the lead?
