The season has been moved back a little this year, but starting tomorrow the European Championships are on (and televised on Eurosport). All the big names will be there starting their Olympic qualifcation runs.
And the UCI classics start in December.

Oh dear, Chris Hoy fail. Beaten in the Round of 16 in the Sprint by an 18 year old Irishman called Felix English - a rider who calls himself an Endurance rider, not a sprinter.
By the sounds of it. Chris Hoy got a good gap, sat up way too early, and the Irish guy caught him up again and passed him.

Isn't it the best of three rouds who makes it through ?
Dumb mistake by Hoy anyway, but that happens... it's not as bad as Bourgain (I think it was him) who was that focused on standing still that he didn't even notice his opponent had attacked from his wheel. |

All credit to the German though, that one was more of a Forstemann Win, than Hoy Fail.

Wow, this elimination race (is that the name of it!?) looks like a massive fail for the organizers, it looks like a complete chaos
EDIT: Or it might be the norwegian commentators messing me up, they are eliminated for every second lap or? If so, the norwegian commentators have got this one wrong, telling us that one rider is eliminated each round
So, if someone can enlighten a suddenly trackinterested norwegian watcher; Kluge won that, or what? And one rider gets eliminated every second lap?

Yeah, some of the riders just kept on going although they were last.
Our commentator were not impressed.
Very nice attack by the german a few laps from the end, though. |

system needed to actually decide who was eliminated when.
That was madness.

Trust the man who won, erm, I think it was only one, elimination race. |

They seem to have more control in the women's elimination, sofar. The crash before the start was nasty, though, but no severe injuries.

Elimination Race did always seem like something that would take some practice to get right in real life. After all, its not like the riders will suddenly dissapear, PCM style.
Hopefully some Eurosport footage finds its way onto YouTube, Im intrigued as to how chaotic it actually was.

Amazing ride by Machakova, first crashing and then she managed to win it.
