I am making a Giro variant. I have finished one stage the team time trial stage in Olbia at Sardinia.
I haven't thought to much about the other stages yet, so if you have any mountains or recommendations come forward.
Stage 1: Corsa Vittorio Veneto Olbia - Olbia TTT 20.9 km
Stage 2: Olbia - Alghero 131.3 km
Stage 5: Reggio di Calabria - Crotone 219.7 km
Stage 6: Policoro - Bitonto 151.4 km
Stage 7: Lucera - Monte Faito Funivia 268.7 km
Stage 8: Napoli - Aprilia 200.6 km
Stage 9: Ciampino - Piazza San Pietro - Citta del Vaticano 37.2 km ITT
Stage 10: Roma - Tarquinia 144.3 km
Stage 11: Siena - Monte Cucco 203 km
Stage 12: Arezzo - Livorno 153.0 km
Stage 13: Livorno - Firenze 134 km
Stage 14: Genova - Cuneo 132.2 km
Stage 15: Cuneo - Colle del Sestriere 201.98 km
Stage 16: Torino - Lago Toggia 220 km

I have finished the ITT Olbia (flat), stage from Olbia to Alghero (flat) and a stage from Regio di Calbria to Crotone (hilly).
I will have two more stages at Sardinia (one hilly and one mountains).
I will make a route through all of Italy, not taking tours through to other countries and where each region of Italy will be visited apart from Sicilly. |

Stage 1: Corsa Vittorio Veneto Olbia - Olbia TTT 20.9 km
A short team time trial to open the Giro. It is flat with just some small rises in the middle.
Stage 2: Olbia - Alghero 131.3 km
A hilly stage starting at the eastern side of Sardinia and ending on the western side of Sardinia.
Stage 5: Reggio di Calabria - Crotone 219.7 km
After 4 stages at Sardinia now the Giro has come to Calabria. This stage is very hilly and could be a good opportunity for a breakaway group.
Stage 6: Policoro - Bitonto 151.4 km
A short and flat stage through Basilicata and Puglia. The peloton only has to work for the last 10-20 km.
Stage 7: Lucera - Monte Faito Funivia 268.7 km
A very long and hard stage of this Giro. Starting in Puglia going through Molise and ending up at Monte Faito Funivia after climbing the nearly 15 km long mountain in Campania. Passing by the large vulcano Vesuv aswell.
Stage 8: Napoli - Aprilia 200.6 km
A flat stage which shouldn't bring many difficulties apart from some wind in some places. |

Stage 9: Ciampino - Piazza San Pietro - Citta del Vaticano 37.2 km ITT
A flat and middle lenght ITT from Ciampino to the Citta del Vaticano.

Stage 10: Roma - Tarquinia 144.3 km
A short and quite easy stage. Going inlands from Rome and into the Lazio region before going down near the coast to the city of Tarquinia.

Stage 11: Siena - Monte Cucco 203 km
A quite long mountain stage in Umbria which will prove difficult for the main GC men. Goes over the Monte Subasio on the way. |

A short and flat stage in nice scenery which will give the sprinters another opportunity to take a stage in the Giro. |

Flat all the way for the final climb up the Colle del Sestriere at 2000 meters. |

The last stage in the alps of this years Giro. Flatt all the way before the final climb up to Lago Toggia at 2200 meters. |
