New Notebook - playing PCM10
tsmoha
Hey,

i'm going to buy a new notebook pc (or desktop, maybe) and i want it to be a good one for playing PCM10 and other games. Do you think, that this notebook will give me good graphics for PCM (high details, "no" (few) problems with crashes):

AMD Phenom II Triple-Core (1,90Ghz),
ATI Radeon HD 5470 1 GB,
4 GB Memory, Windows 7 /64 Bit)?

Do I need more graphic-speed or desktop-pc for better performance?

Thanks for request.

Seems good to me
I can play on full for everything and i have 1GB graphic card so that should be fine
And the triple core should be powerful enough although a quad would be better
If you don't need a notebook/laptop then a desktop would be much cheaper for similar or better specifications

Hope this helps

Yes, it helps, thank you Wink

I would prefer a desktop (because of the money), but i'm often "on the road".

Well you have to remember that a powerful laptop like this uses a lot of resources playing a game so you may only get a couple of hours battery life maybe that is something to consider?

CrueTrue
I wouldn't really recommend a AMD / ATI combination for PCM. The game simply works better with NVIDIA.

Thanks, Crue. I always thought ATI would be better Wink Good info so!

@edibletoast: I need only a couple of hours battery life Wink So this would be ok.

I always prefer ATI. I just have the feeling that it matches better than Nvidia. But for PCM CrueTrue is right.

So if you need a laptop for office use but want to play PCM then Nvidia. If you want to play lots of games including PCM then I would read some tests about other games. I never had problems with other games and ATI Wink (ATI fan)

Does that mean, that PCM and ATI cards completely disharm? Or will it be just minor differences between ATI and Nvidia? Or, ATI = more crashes on PCM? I think i will go for Nvidia. The only games i play will be PCM and Sports Interactive's Football Manager, which has no heavy graphics Wink Thank you for the infos!

ATI and PCM are working. I can play it quite smooth. But sometimes there are much less frames than it should have with your card.
