It seems to when going round corners, the game jerks, jumps and freezes for a split second, the peleton then gets all mixed up, stops and then restarts, some riders get spat out the front, and gaps form or disappear. this happens more so when accelerated and on larger classics atages.
I've tried turning the graphics down to basic and it still does it, my computer can deffinitely handle it, but here are the specs:
AMD Phenom II 1090T Black 3.2GHz X6
2GB ATI Radeon HD5870
4GB DDR3 1600MHz
I have had some RAM issues, i'm currently on my third pair since i built the machine back in july, but these are new (2 weeks) and haven't caused any problems (i.e BSOD), so i think the system is ok.
I can still play the game, but its just a bit of a pain, i had this on my old system on PCM09
I appeiciate any ideas anyone has |

Try to change the camera angle so that the view is not so flat (so that you don't look so much ahead). For a test you could move the camera so that you look at the peloton straight from the top. |

It's a known problem of the graphics engine of PCM 2010 with AMD quad-cores + ATI radeon hd 57xx and 58xx cards
I'm in the same boat as you are and there is not much you can do except lower the graphics and what lachi said, pull the camera up.
Here's hoping it will get better in PCM 2011. They still have some time to perfect the graphics engine for quad-core pc's |

Same graphic card here and same problem of course ^^
a bit annoying but in most races I can play with highest graphic if I deactivate shadows, anti-aliasing and motion blur.
On longer races (200km+) and some other races I just lower the graphic in all settings by 1-2. |

I'm glad i'm not the only one, i built this new machine just for PCM 2010, bit annoying, but least it ain't my RAM again.
Cheers Lachi but I tried that before, it helped a bit, might need to zoom in a bit more though. Like Roturn I did Ronde on lowest of everything, with a top down view, as it kept crashing near the end and it still did exaclty the same, i've got Roubaix to look forward to now, least its flat. |

I have a quad AMD and 5770 and never had this problem, so it cannot be related to this combo. I play on high settings and a rather flat camera angle.
I only mentioned the camera angle to see what does cause the problem. If the angle changes the stuttering, then it is most probably cause by the graphics card. Whatever that means, you have to find out yourself (Wrong driver, overheating, broken, ...) |

Believe me lachi, I tried everything.
There is no problem with overheating, I tried a gazillion different driver versions, from the newest to adaptions, I've tried another OS, (Vista and XP instead of Windows 7).
I've tried deactivating cores even.
Nothing helps. And the problem is ONLY in PCM 2010, not any other game. Every other modern game runs perfect and in high settings.
Even other games with the same engine (gamebryo engine) run without the problems I encounter in PCM 2010
It's astounding and completely illogical.

I know your story, but it is cannot be the CPU + GPU else I must be extremly lucky to get two fine chips or a coincidently matching combo. |

Well it is a fact a lot of people with radeons and amd cpu's have this problem and a lot of people with x64 systems and quad (or 6) cores.
I think Cyanide even aknowledged that on some particular x64 systems this problem persists.
Although it did get better than the initial release. At least it's now playable |
