The first running of this race and Pozzato is the big favourite, although the random nature of the hilly stages here means any one of about 40 riders could easily win this, and when you factor in breakaways any rider with 65+ hill or 75+ sprint is in with an chance.

hmm, now I kinda regret not sending a stronger team, but I think we can still grab some points here, and hopefully a stage win or 2.

I would also say I'd regret not sending Ponzi here over Caruso, but luckily I have Pavarin in the line up, who has consistantly surprised me with his good performances. Hopefully I can get in a few breaks with Grippo, Locatelli, Scarponi or Tiernan-Locke. A KoM jersey would be quite nice I thinks

I am sure a lot of teams would have been scared off of the 8 race days for an unpredictable race. The mini tours have been much more competative. Stages 4, 5 and 6 look the hardest in this one, but none look like they are going to split the field completely. A breakaway could decide it espicially if Cillit Bang get the race lead any time, but I fancy a couple of teams will look to chase back every time.
Pozzato is the stand out name, he also has a fantastic potential lead out in Taylor Tolleson and a really useful number one domestique in Luis Pasamontes. Mercedes will be desperately disappointed if their stacked team does not give a decent result here.
Promotion rivals Wiggle, look pretty useful as always. Caruso and Pavarin have solid GC credentials. But I suspect a strong sprinter who can survive the hills may the best bet here. As mb points out there is a fair list of them...
Dumoulin (Pokerstars), Van Hummel (Falcon), Trusov (Tinkoff) and even veteren Bettini (Vespa) may chip in at the top of the leaderboard. I am interested to see how the sprint trains turn out... |

Well, this race is one of Mercedes goals for the season, hopefully i didn't send too many cooks for this kitchen and the team throws its weight behind Pozzato.

Ismael Kip is obviously going to win this. Kip - Turkey, that's more then just coincidence.

Awful moment for the favourite there following the East Midlands race it is becoming a horrible habit.
Now then Cillit Bang get to lead peleton, I think a serious breakaway is in order! |

Guldhammer top 10, not bad by the young dane. Sure that it was not him on the side in the sprint? Anyway, I see this as a good sign for him on the more hillier stages later
