Does how hard you push your rider in a race determine the fitness outlook after the race? I don't know if the game dynamics have that inputted or if you enter race X you will get fitness result X. Thanks.
I think you answered it. In the real world instance, Lance Armstrong decided to sit back in a group while Levi attacked in the Amgen this past year. Mostly playing the role of a teammate, but also he used the Amgen as just putting miles under his belt and never really wanted to push himself hard. Would the same hold true in a race on PCM? If I push a rider very hard, would he have the same fitness results then if he were to just sit back and use the race as a 'pleasure cruise'. I think you answered the question fairly well, but I just wanted to add some clarification
In a stage race, how you use a rider does affect recovery for the next stages. How low the green bar goes, coupled with the recovery stat, determines how much energy a rider has for the next day. Obviously, the harder a rider is pushed, the lower the bar will be.
But it doesn't affect the big fitness picture as CrueTrue said.
Actually, according to Eyolfur (this was PCM08, so it might've changed since then), how much green bar the rider has at the end of a stage determines not only his recovery, but also if he gains 1, 2 or 3 "racing" fitness points from that stage.

I have a question in connection with fitness and regeneration. Hogy can I save energie in stage races? Do I think well that I should "play" with the effort bar? Because when I'm playing my weaker rider's fitness falls (to Good/Very Good after 2-3 hard days), but when I simulate (or at AI's riders in game) it doesn't do it, and doesn't matter how difficult the stage is. Can you help me, please?
