Still under construction but u can already make and download startlists either manually or automatic trough a startlist from cyclingfever.com. The idea behind it is that someone needs to make a startlist for a database once, and other users can download it easily(though the search function is not yet done, it will be soon). At the moment only PCM daily's latest database has been added to the site. If u want to add a database u need to post in this thread or pm me your username (the one you registered with on the startlist site) so i can add you to the admin group wich are allowed to add databases.
Requirements:
-Silverlight (will ask you automatically to install it if u don't have it, but most already will have it installed)
-Minimum of 1280x1024 resolution screen (smaller resolution could cut off some UI, could fix that but it's not very practical editing a startlist with smaller res imho)
Site: startlists.havenfysio.nl
-PLEASE report any error or bugs you might encounter !
-If someone want's to translate the site (about 15minutes of work i guess) plz post here or pm me. Local translation option will be added later since atm it's only in english
-There is, i think, enough guidance text to walk most trough the process. If u still don't get something check the screencast tutorial below. I'll fill in the help page at a later date.

Some general tips
-When using the startlist generate function from cyclingfever.com each match of a name on the startlist with a name from the database gets a classification(or matchlevel). This is beceause there are usually some names either misspelled or simply spelled differently (spanish second last name for ex.). These levels run from 1 to 5 plus off course a non-match where there could not be a suitable match found. U can check these on the right side with the buttons 'non-matches' and 'match details'. Check these two carefully when auto generating a startlist. Normally the levels 3 to 5 are pretty safe matches (to be more precise, these are matches with a small levensthein distance (for ex. Denis Menchov <> Denis Mensjov), a permutated name or a permutated name with one name left off (Igor Anton <> Igor Anton Hernandez)). U should always double check at least levels 1 and 2.
-The creation of a startlist is divided in steps, at step 3 you select/deselect teams, at step 4 u fill those teams with cyclists.
-When u wan't to [b]remove[b] a cyclist or team u can't use double click like u can when adding cyclists/teams but u have to select the team first, then the cyclist in that team, and then click the minus button in the middle (might fix this later)
-At the last step of creating a startlist there is an optional comment that u can add to it. This can be usefull if u left out a team. This is because on some races there are national teams wich u can't add in PCM. A workaround would be to add a 'normal' team as a placeholder and add the cyclists to that team, less realistic but at least u have all the real riders that participated.
-U can add cyclists to ANY team when u deselect the 'lock with team selection' option on the cyclists add/remove page. This way you can put cyclists on there real team when for ex. someone like Ricco rode with a different team at the beginning of the season and u want the most realistic field possible(again, u could use the optional comment at the end to notify users that download your startlist of this fact).
-Beceause it is a website there are some security restrictions that u should be aware of:
1.Clipboard access is only allowed when explicitly granted by the user, so when u use the "Read clipboard" function to auto generate a startlist you'll see a popup asking you to grant access. U can check the checkbox 'don't ask me next time' or sth like that so you only have to click it once. (IE, other browsers should have something similar)
2.At the last step when u click 'download' to download your startlist to your PC and a 'save as dialog' appears use ctr+v to paste in the correct XML name to save it as. A silverlight website cannot (atm) set this filename for you. Alternativly type in the xml name that is shown in the bottom status bar, although i myself would prefer the easier ctr+v/paste option.
-Startlists need to be saved to the Pro Cycling Manager 2010/Import folder in you my documents section to be recognized by PCM.
-The tool can just as easily be used for previous versions of PCM, off course the specific database u use should be added first.
-At the Add Teams and Add Cyclists step use the textbox at the bottom to quickly filter the list if u are searching for a specific cyclist (works much faster when u uncheck the 'lock with teams' option to add a rider to a team that is not his current one in the database)

I've been testing this for a couple of days, and it's really an excellent tool. Still a few minor bugs (either that, or it's just at my end. Time will tell), but you have them via PM |

Is not working for me unfortunately, at least if I create the StartList from the Clipboard. I get the list with the teams and the riders, although I have a couple of wrong riders in it and I can't edit them on the 'riders' page because I can't select them properly. I can only select whole teams. |

You can't remove by double clicking, only adding works that way. To remove a cyclist u have to select both the team in wich the cyclist resides and then select the cyclist, then click the minus button in the middle. I know it's a little counter intuitive but i might change that at a later date.
(I've also showed how to do this briefly in the video so check that if it's still not clear)

I assume you mean the xml name to save it as. ->

Also: as for the clipboard function. Both firefox and chrome seem to not allow clipboard access. If u can try it with either IE or Opera wich do allow it! |

It's supposed to do that. You'll only have problems if you try to use teams and riders who aren't in the database. |

Maybe you misunderstood me. I can't insert the startlist for the giro to the startlist-program. I can't use the read clipboard function. It just jump to pick teams. I haven't made a startlist and played with it yet. If you still don't understand me, then look at the tutorial - video by Jape. I can't do what his doing from 0.36 - 1.04. I will not load the startlist file from cyclingfever.
Hope u can help me now |

Try using IE, some browsers don't allow access to the clipboard. When it doesn't allow so it won't display any warning it will just return nothing from the clipboard. That's why there is nothing hapening. When u do so in IE the first time it will pop up a dialog asking you to explicitly allow access to the clipboard. When you see the 'please wait' message for a moment you know it did work.(it takes a little time to process and analyze the data) Alternativly try right clicking and select Install. It will install/cache the application on your PC and that way i THINK it will have no problem accessing the clipboard(not tested yet though) |
