What would you do if you were in charge of the UCI? It'll be interesting to hear everyone's opinion's. |

Here are some of my ideas:
Make the race formerly known as the GP Des Nations a Pro Tour race (I think it's called the Chrono des Nations now). It would be a good addition, as a TT/Classic.
Make Race Radio run on a Universal Feed, provided by the organisers.
Bring back the White leader's jersey for Paris-Nice.
Put the Worlds in August, filling some calendar space.
Remove the Eneco Tour from the Pro Tour. It's pretty boring.
Bring back the Tour of Ireland.
I have more, but I'll post them later. |

I would make Ringerike Grand Prix a pro tour race. Because of the finical power behind that race would have been sick if it was made Pro-Tour.

Remove the Ringerike GP and organize a Tour of Norway with epic mountain stages in the western part of the country
The scenery is so damn boring in Ringerike GP. We have a huge potential with the mountains and fjords

Shame on you! We got fjords and "mountains" here as well.

It used to be the unofficial World TT Championships. Then an official one started in 1994 and that race became redundant.
Looking at the winners' roll before 1994 shows a who's who of cycling history

I don't remember Paris-Nice having a white leader's jersey

Then the end of the season after the Vuelta becomes Paris-Tours, Lombardia and nothing. Most riders will end their season after the Vuelta

I'm all for having several different types of races in the calendar. I hate it when races are made cookie-cutter. Unique is good. Variety is good.
I absolutely despise the fact that, for example, the Paris-Tours organizers changed a unique this year to make it just like so many others.

Not up to the UCI
Don't think I'm ragging on you. I'm answering your ideas specifically, precisely because they're some of the most interesting

I'd propose this:
-> Lifetime ban for every doping offence.
-> No ProTour or Historical Calendar or whatever. Let the invitations be up to the organisers. No divisions. No nothing.
-> Adopt the CQRanking for rider/team/nation ranking.
-> Require the biological passport membership to enter any race above Cat.2

-More open about doping.
-World Cup please
-Improved Worlds qualification system (one that takes into account the entire season to start with)
-Track cycling: World cup overhaul needed, Olympics 1 rider per country per event needs scrapping.

Paris-Nice had a white leaders jersey between 1955-2001.
also, i'm pretty sure all of jph's suggestions are from british cycling magazines.

If I was in charge.....
....I would send team managers to fashion school so we wouldn't have any disasters like this season's Footon kit! Awful! |

Maybe with a finish up to Konnerud - that hill has really made me gasp for breath.... |

One thing that I would not do is let the organizers choose the teams that participate in the race. The organizers do not always pick the best teams. The exclusion of RadioShack from the Vuelta is a good example for this year. Although, I am not too crazy about the current format either. |

I would close the ProTour and return World Cup and world rankings.
Moreower, I would say no to any doping cases and thus allow everyone to start at any race
