Can't renew contracts

So here's the picture:
As you can see, it's January, and only 6 riders have the contract for the next season, and no matter which rider i want to renew, it always says that I can't go over the maximum number of 30 riders for the next season.
I haven't tinkered with the database and haven't changed any rider's team or contract, so I guess the problem isn't there.
I'm playing the 3rd season with PCMDaily's 1.0.3.0 DB, and I've installed the new beta patch.
What can I do without 'cheating' the game and editing the contracts in a DB editor?
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?
If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord will delete my browser history.

How many riders do you have in your team? Did you count them? If it is below or equal 30, then I would say it is rather an error in your DB. Because I cannot image why you would need to wait, at least I never wait before resigning them, else they might get stupid ideas about getting better offers from different teams. |

5 leaders:
Cavendish & Greipel for sprints,
Gilbert & Albasini for Ardennes,
Cancellara for cobbles.
7 protected riders, 6 luxury team mates, 5 young riders and 7 team mates.
So that is 30, no more, no less.

What kind of DB error would that be?
For some reason I'm not keen on continuing this career without resolving the issue, although I only wanted to keep 10-15 riders from my current team and focus solely on sprints and breakaways.

I have had that error before, it has always happened when i have exactly 30 riders signed, so it thinks that resigning said rider would take you over 30. I just cut a crappy rider and then was able to resign everyone else and if its in january you can then resign that rider if you want or just let him go. Or open it with an editor, remove a rider from your team, resign them and then re-add the rider.
Or as Hillis said, wait till June then its not even an issue, but i am impatient and like to know who will sign with me now, and who are the idiots who give me the "I want to shop around" option so i can plan ahead. |

No problem, it will be much appreciated.
In the meantime, I released one of my riders and everything worked like a charm, I renewed all the contracts I wanted. Weird.
