Tour of America 2010
The first annual race of the Tour of America will start this year!
As they say on their site^^
It's not completely a fantasyrace.
The distance, start and finishcities are as reallistic as possible

No offence, but there's no chance that that race will be raced this year.
It's been "around" for ~5 years. At first, it was completely unrealistic - as far as I remember, it was longer than the Tour de France. Since then, the guy behind the project has found out a little more about cycling and adapted the stage lengths a little.
For this year, the race is supposedly taking place in early September. We're in late August now, and the route hasn't even been finalized yet.
As a fantasy route, I'm sure it'll be fun to play, though |

I didn't think about that it was late August already

Like CT said, as a Fantasy tour this will be fun to play.
As a real tour, it's never going to happen. Best to think that the Tour of California is the national tour there.

I think it's to bad that the race won't be held!
I think it's a great thing to have an American tour of 3 weeks!^^
don't you think the same? |

nobody needs a 4th 3 week tour in pro cycling, there is simply no space in the race calendar |

There is also a possibility to replace the Vuelta, of Giro or Tour by the Tour of America, OR, you replace some smaller races for the Tour of America^^
Just an option!^^ |

i think that if it's made in march it will be better instead of replacing another 3-week-tour |

All these years later and I'm still laughing at the 200km mountain TTT

I found another edition which had a team time trial of just 100 km
In addition to that, there were two time trials of 160 km in total, a prologue of 10 km, 5020 km of flat stages (over 16 stages, an average of ~310 km per stage) and 7 mountain stages.
27 stages all-in-all

Since you are posting these in your own Stages topic aswell, there is no need for this one. Topic closed
