I was playing the first stage of Criterium International (at least I think that was it) and I was in a breakaway along with Domoulin. The last 5-6km of the stage is a climb that I think averages 7-8 %. When I reached the climb I had 6 minutes on the pack so I figured this stage was in the bag, along with all the jerseys my heart desired.
Well, to make a long story short, I came in 3rd, 6 seconds behind Simon Spilak and 2 behind Kim Kirchen. I "dotted" my rider on 80, this was as much as I could without him being completely empty before the finishingline. Thats not all, both Spilak and Kirchen attacked more or less up the entire mountain and was still able to sprint past me.
My Cyanide bought a little to much into that rumor about Cancellara and his tiny "motor"
Cancellaras motor is not "tiny". It's BIG. That damn bastard beat my Flecha to the first place in the ronde van vlaanderen, he attacked like 30 km before the finish, and all Flecha could do was smell his sweat from behind even though he was right behind him getting pulled the whole time to the finish line.
I didn't check the wind at the moment they started closing in, but I have a theory;
In the same moment that I reached the mountain, the peloton got hit by a sudden and very local tropical hurricane. This gave them some tailwind, but due to the mountain/valley the wind shifted and I got hit by the hurricane too, only I got it as headwind. The storm was over in the same moment that Spilak and Kirchen reached me.
Either that, or Kirchen is actually Superman. In disguise. Also, Spilak is Batman.
