Hey guys!
I want to start a story later tonight, but don't know what team to pick! I nearly always play as a team with big GC riders, so for a change I'd like to be one of the smaller teams with more ambitions for the classics and smaller races.
Whoever has the most votes later on tonight I will pick for my story

Introduction
Team Milram are hoping to have their best season ever in 2010, with the help of sprinter Gerald Ciolek and puncheur Fabian Wegmann. Linus Gerdemann is our hopes for the big tours, with Niki Terpstra hopeful for the northern classics.

Australian Championships
Luke Roberts was the first Milram rider to compete in an event this season, as he took 10th at the Australian Time Trial Championship, 1'31" behind winner Richie Porte of Saxo Bank.
Four days later came the Australian Road Championship, in which Roberts participated along with 32 other Aussies. Just a few kilometres into the stage, a breakaway got away from the peloton, containing Roberts and 5 other riders, none of which liked climbing. Would they stay away on the hilly course?
Sanderson of Amore & Vita attacked off the front of the break and no riders had enough energy to chase. Roberts regained some on the downhill and tried to catch the leader, which he did.
Sanderson attacked over and over, trying to shake off Roberts, but he couldn't. The gap back to the peloton continued to increase despite lots of work from HTC-Columbia.
With 40km to go, Roberts decided that enough was enough, and he went full gas up the ascent in an attempt to drop his countryman, who was tired having unsuccessfully tried to drop Roberts himself. Sure enough, Sanderson couldn't keep up and he slipped backwards.
Meanwhile, FDJ's Wesley Sulzberger attacked off the front of the peloton and was racing at a very quick pace. It was an anxious wait for Milram directeur sportif Hotchip95 to see if Roberts would hold his lead!
Sadly, a tired Roberts was caught with less than 5km to go, in a heartbreaking result for the Australian. Sulzberger won the stage with Roberts 2nd.
Training camp
The whole of the 2010 Milram squad were sent on an expensive but tough four day training camp in Monaco prior to the start of the Santos Tour Down Under.

Santos Tour Down Under
Milram are bringing a strong team to the opening ProTour event of the season, the Santos Tour Down Under, with Ciolek, Stroetinga, Wrolich, De Vocht, Eichler, Forster and Roberts being selected.
Can our main sprinter Ciolek take advantage of the 4 flat stages in the TDU? He's got tough competition from Allan Davis of Astana and Danilo Napolitano of Katusha.
Stage 1
Stage 1 was one of the flattest on the TDU schedule, and one which Ciolek ringed as one he could win. However that looked in jeopardy when a dangerous breakaway of 15 riders escaped on the wide, Australian roads, including Milram's Markus Eichler.
However when HTC, Rabobank, Astana and RadioShack sent riders up to the front of the peloton, it wasn't long before the advantage of the breakaway began to fall, and they were caught at the 30km to go mark. It was to come down to a mass sprint, a golden opportunity for us!
With 10km to go, Milram's sprint train sprang into action, led by Wim Stroetinga, who peeled off to leave Ciolek and his lead-out man Robert Forster in a perfect position.
Ciolek began his sprint with 2km to go, being followed by Matthew Goss of HTC-Columbia, who pulled alongside Ciolek with under a km to go!
Thankfully, Ciolek held it to the line but only just! What a perfect way to start the season...

Santos Tour Down Under
Stage 2
Stage 2 was another reasonably flat one, and one that should end in a bunch sprint. However 9 riders went away off the front of the peloton in the first half of the stage, with the breakaway containing no Milram riders.
This meant that in order to keep the leader's jersey, 3 of our riders were sent to the front of the peloton to bring the breakaway back in.
De Vocht, Eichler and Wrolich making sure the breakaway doesn't get too far in front.
The only categorized climb of the day was short but very steep with percentages above 17%. The peloton began to split. Milram's sprint train and Ciolek managed to stay in the front group but they were tired. Would they recover in time to win?
With 10km to go the regular lead-out men Stroetinga and Forster were tired, meaning that Luke Roberts was brought into the sprint train for added firepower.
Ciolek made his move with 2km to go, would he hold on at these high speeds down the technical descent to the finish line?
Sadly not, Matthew Goss won the stage with Gerald Ciolek a close 2nd. All Milram riders finished inside the lead bunch in a tough day, where only 89 of the 154 riders made it to the finish line with the same time as Goss.
Less than a second now comes between Ciolek and Goss, and the two riders are on exactly the same number of points, in an interesting battle which shall be resumed in 2 days time after the first hilly stage tomorrow.

Stage 3
Stage 3 of the TDU was a reasonably hilly one, and with no climbers in the Milram squad for this tour, it was to be a case of trying to stick in the peloton and get the day over with as fast as possible!
A breakaway of 8 riders escaped on the first and toughest climb of the day, with the highest place GC rider in the break being Liquigas' Paterski, who was 16" down on Ciolek.
In the closing kilometres the breakaway was still leading but was being brought in fast! However, two riders managed to stay away and finish 22" ahead of the peloton.
Ignatiev won the stage with Grivko 2nd. These riders were too far back to alter the GC, meaning that Ciolek still leads the Santos Tour Down Under by less than a second! Can he increase that lead on tomorrow's flat stage?
