From the PPDB forum, post from Talleyrand:
Very Important message and Appeal to all of you guys (and girls?)
OK guys this is not a joke and I need your help.
I have had very positive contacts with Cyanide's upper management on the AI problems.
First of all they apologize for all the non responding to all the complaints and to the embarrassing deleting of members' accounts at the Cyanide Forum.
It is difficult to believe but the Cya management was unaware of what was happening, and that also has to do something with the holiday season in France.
I guess it were moderators acting in sheer panic.
Now this is very important:
Cyanide wants to do all it can to correct the AI issues and I have been giving them loads of input that was all new to them.
I thank Ruben for having helped me bigtime with this. I haven't palyes PCM2010 a lot so having first hand input from experienced players is a must.
But Cya has difficulties with reproducing some of the problems such as the yellow bar not running out / riders don't get dropped stuff in the mountains.
Their technical guy Samuel Manier is working his ass off to try and identify / reproduce the problems.
Anyone who can help please forward to me replays of stages that clearly demonstare the various problems and I will forward them to the guys at Cyanide.
But now what we also need to do is to try and calm down the entire community.
Freire will come up with statememnts on behalf of Cyanide probably coming Monday. The guy is in the middle of moving to a new house. They are also just human, you know.
But he promised me they are really going to do all they can to solve this and they do respect their customers bigtime. That is: you!
Please reproduce this message in all forums you are active in.
Cyanide dóes not despise its customers but somehow communication didn't work as it should have.
I think we should forgive them and now all work together in order to help them maker this game into the miracle it looked like at first sight.
I count on all you guys (and girls?).
We can have this great graphics together with a good AI if we can turn our disappointment into a positive attitude to help Cyanide now.
So let's help them in any way we can. They are ready for action as from coming Monday, after the holidays of some of them will be over!
Sincerely,
Talleyrand |

If the AI is fixed, this is easily the most complete game of the series ever! |

And that's THE news!
You see, Ruben, it might've been worth getting these bans on official forums
Hope they'll take it seriously and really do sth about gameplay. As Macimate said, it will be the most complete PCM ever, if they fix it.

Thanks for the info. I think easiest way to reproduce would be playing a whole TdF and Amstel Gold Race. So I can`t really imagine they can`t reproduce some things
They will definitely find:
- GC riders win mass sprints
- 150 rider mass sprint in AGR
- Too many riders left on the last 5km of mountain finishes |

I agree with you, roturn.
For me the biggest problems with the AI are as follows:
- GC riders + riders like Klier, Ivanov (Good on flat) participate in the mass sprints, sometimes with great success.
- No sprint trains
- No-one sprints for the intermediate sprints. You'll only get some weird scenario where a secondary rider from the AI rides in front of the peloton and takes it for some weird reason.
- Big groups reaching the finish in both hilly and mountainous stages - it's too hard to drop riders.
- On mountain stages you will not see a team pulling the peloton at a high pace for their captain like in PCM09. Instead, it's often up to the captains to do the dirty work themselves. (attacking from the bottom)
- Attacks can be very ineffective (Not really an AI issue)

I was the one doing the emails. I've sent fresh emails retracting my earlier ones in light of this development. Good news and fair play to Cyanide for doing this, also to Talleyrand. |

I actually liked big groups ending in hilly stages, sure the groups are too big but in real life we often see hilly stages ending by a mass sprint with the sprinters who managed to pass the hills...
Team Europcar !!

Hills in a GT maybe. But not LBL, Amstel Gold or classics like these. |

People please I urge you to get playing and get some replays
Especially of:
Cobble races like Omloop het Volk that end in too big groups
Hilly classics like Amstel Gold Race that end in a very big 150 man sprint where they shouldn't
TDF where you should encounter the weird mass sprints
Paris Nice where you often see big group sprints that shouldn't be there
I can't send/make replays myself since my PC crashes as soon as I activate replays
So please, please help |

Not 150 man sprints
More like, 20/25 man and sometimes even just 5 man (2008 edition Amstel Gold), or solo's (2005 edition Amstel) |

IF??? This is a product I bought. It cost money. I dont think the IF is used properly there.
But I will try to send good replays to show them the bugs.
Where? |

I have two cobbled classic (Both Gent - Lokeren), where I did nothing during the stage. The first one ended with a group of 28, where one of my inactive riders with 68 in COB was. With a blinking red light. The peloton splitt in two big groups during the stage.
The second one really shows what's the problem with the gameplay. Over 150 rider finish in he same group.

Thanks. Now I`ve found it, don`t think I`ll ever use this function anyway
I was just surprised about the small size and the format. |

Good news. In the Giro Basso won a mass sprint 100+ riders and in the TDF Evans did the same. All cobbled races and hilly classics end in mass sprint. I find it very odd that Cyanide can't reproduce these weird results as they happen all the time with me (with newest patch). I'll try to get some replays though. |

Please consider using the OfficialRelease for these test to make sure that the problems are not DB related.
Sadly my pc is broken so I cannot test right now.
Please somebody make a replay of the attacking problems:
- Attacking riders (AI and own) are slower then the peloton.
- My rider can relay in the middle of attacking riders without getting dropped.
And about the sprint issues:
- No sprinter trains.
- Non-sprinters beeing faster as sprinters when both are sprinting.
- Peloton does not chase if riders attack shortly before intermediate sprints.
- GC riders fighting for the sprint jersey.
- Peloton is slowing down at some point in the last 20 km although peloton is closest group to finish line.
