Cyanide is deleting topics and forum members....
ruben
Yes, it really comes this far now.

Not only have they been massively ignoring the shoddy/buggy AI of the game the last few weeks. They have also started a censorship on their official forums against any criticism against the game.

They deleted topics the last few weeks where discussions were going about the poor AI. But the topics kept coming back. So now they refrained to other methods. Actually deleting forum accounts of people who criticise their game.

Cyanide have really crossed the line with me this time. There is no excuse for such poor management. They can't even take a joke (f.ex my picture about them ignoring the problem) or any kind of criticism.

Another guy who kept repeating the question when they are going to do something about the poor AI even got banned.
He wasn't cursing or anything. Just asking.

I am for sure now, after 10 years, not going to buy the next PCM anymore. I've really had it with their piss poor way of communicating and now even embarrassing handling of criticism.
Censorship... really?
What time do we live in, USSR times?

Don't throw away your 45 euros next year people. It's obvious Cyanide does not care at all and is glad to take your money and laugh.

This is bad, really bad!

Just for the record did you get banned?

ruben
No I can still visit the forums, they just deleted my account.

valverde321
This situation is even worse and a harder kick in the balls than even this.

Haven't you been helping them for years already by translating and stuff? If so, they are really going to far.

Might a reason be, the increased popularity of the game, making them ignorant?

What did you expect?

I mean, I'm with you, they have fucked up the AI in PCM10, and their attitude towards the criticism they've had so far has been deceiving, but if people begin to criticise a product of the company X, in the very own forum of company X, company X will not allow that. That ruins the image of its product and reduces profit.

ruben
In what world are you living?

On community forums of many, many, many, many other games. Criticism is not only ACCEPTED, but something even gets DONE WITH IT.

Cyanide did allow that and did do something with it for years. But lately, certainly the last 3 years, they have stopped doing that.
They have become a pityfull money-grabbing company.

fenian_1234
The picture you posted was funny. It's a pity someone decided it needed to be deleted.

I'm glad the thread is still there though - at first when I read your post I thought it had been all deleted.

If they can't take a joke and delete your account - I don't really care. If they can't fix the AI in another patch, then I'm with you and done with PCM for the forseeable future.

This. Exactly what I said. Granted, not all companies do that, but I'd say that most companies who suddenly screw up one of their games would do the same if they have no intention to fix it, and it looks like they haven't any.

Don't take this as a sign of disagreement, I do agree 100% with you. And with their attitude in the forums they have certainly crossed the line for me too, but most companies, and I'm not talking just about the gaming world, just don't take criticism very well.

I think we need somebody speaking English well enough (and possibly someone able to translate to perfect French) to write an official petition to Cyanide.

It should concern AI and gameplay problems, that are ignored by them, censoring official forums, banning some of the most productive players, troubles with multiplayer (buggy season mode, necessity of using terrible GameCenter) ignoring users questions about most important bugs, etc, etc... (including overall feeling of paying money for nothing)

This petition should be signed by most known and respected members on behalf of all PCM communities.

Just to show, that it's not a problem of Ruben, SN, Crommy and Ozzy, but the problem of all the communities.

And that should be done fast. Any volunteers?

This is just awfull I mean they should take Critisism as a way to improve their game.
I agree with Ozzy.

Just look at the hotest game this year(so far) Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The communities all over the world was spaming the forums and sending mail to the developers to fix bugs and etc. What happent? It got done. And the head developer even "appologized" for all of the bugs and so on. 3/5 of the company even got fired! (Because of some internal buisness, but still)

I've gotten the impression that Cyandie never even cared, because the got no competition from other cycling games. Fifa was a crappy game until the PES game came along. NBA live was crap until 2k stept their game up.

We need another good cycling game to make this situation better. Or we all need to boicot next years game. Or(!), Cyandie need to have a wash up meeting and get all of their washed up developers out.

But what really pisses me off is that they are starting to ban people from the forums. And if what i read over here is true. That for instance Ruben has been translating for them over the years and got his account deleted. Then they are just plain stupid.

Cyandie has given me personaly the impression that they just release a crappy game. We pay for it. And then we wait for the Community to make the game playable. Something that in the first place should have been done by the developers...

Unbeliveable. Im all out of words...

Exactly.

I bet if the community worked together we could create a better game and keep on adding things to it. Sort of like Eurotour (PcCicclismo).

Edit: And a company needs to listen to its customers suggestions or else after a while there wont be any customers or company. And I'm not saying Cyanide needs to fix every suggestion towards the game but they need to atleast listen to the suggestions made and not delete customers accounts (basically) when its not the customers fault.
Look at BP Oil when the pipe broke they couldn't fix it right away, but they told the world that they were working on fixing it and now there has been some progress. If BP just let the Oil leak for the rest of our lives nothing good would happen from the situation. They lose money each day the oil leaks, Cyanide loses money each time they mis-treat, or even ban for no good reason customers.

After all, this situation has one good aspect: NOW is the situation, where the community has the chance to change something about it. If everybody is aware of the fact, that Cyanide actually is ignoring us, then we have a chance to build an opposite group, which might get a huge influence and can't be ignored anymore.
Then we have to start a petition, build our own game or atleast boycott the next years version or something like that.

Cyanide is making a huge mistake by underestimating the power of big communities!

Off-topic, but they sure as hell could. They just didn't wish to permanently lose access to the oilfield.

But im going to post some... opinions... On the Cya-forum.

Eurotour (PcCicclismo).
Come on these games are not worth to mention.
I think they only play their game now online, and cheat like hell, if they lose they quit so it doesnt count. Before they where a lot quicker to fix things, Also you cant view the online ranking profile and stats. But from some accounts you still can see the stats. I dont know what they are doing but it could be very well the last game.

As I said to doddy at the end of this year's beta:

I've had enough of cyanide. I feel for the 2-3 people who work there who actually genuinely care for the game and the costumers.

I told you so, the other day... They gave up the English speaking community three years ago ? That was a tad more, since I felt I was the only one trying to do something about it for one or two years already on their forums. Although when I quitted (being their n°1 most active forum member, I asked to have, and got, my account deleted, mind you people, that was the ultimate prevention against their power to delete accounts Cool unfortunately my departure was described as a tamper thing, instead of actual forum/community management issues), I was totally fed up with their lack of concern. Whatever I did for the English-speaking community was on my own initiative, and would remain almost vain. The French part was hardly better, although they would seldom read it.

Face it, business is business, people on their forums are what 2 000 guys at best, the active guys on their forum must hardly be more than 100. What does that represent to them ? The only potentially annoying people, and maybe not even 1% of their customers.
Not worth the trouble, from a marketing point of view.

Do a perfect game and no advertisement : few customers really happy, no cash in, you go bankrupt.
Do a crap game and lots of advertisement : many customers, few of them express hard disappointment, the others shut up, much cash in, happy developers.

Cruel Truth. ( Pfft ) Sad Or just the cynical aspects of getting big...

I've been reading projects of amateur games that'd supposedly become Cyanide's concurrency. That never worked, for some obvious reasons.
Our only chance, as potential customers, is to have a big studio getting involved (EA Sports or something).

cyanide really screwed up this year.

pcm08 and pcm09 had been poor products, but this year's edition is really awful, and their lack of respect for customers is really unacceptable.

it's funny how on the french forum there is no trace of any complaint.

Apart from not buing pcm anymore, unfortunately there's nothing more we can do, unless another software house comes with another cycling game.

And this is not likely to happen as cycling games represent a niche market fully occupied by cyanide.
