How does a sprinter beat a seasoned climber :O

im getting really frustrated now!!!
im rabobank in my career i play on normal
im on stage 4 of the tour down under and im really pissed of let me explain
stage 4 is a relatively hilly stage ect tom boonen atacks about 30km from th finnish i have a rabobank rider protecting gesink so hes fresh and full on everything i attack to follow boonen who has 72 on hill
with gesink who has 79 so alls going well for about 1km i sort of catch him and at this point we are up a climb of 8 - 9% and my rider gesink has lost everything more or less and starts losing ground so this is more of a mountain climb in which boonen is only about 60 in mountain
eventually others start to attck and gesink gets caught within 10 km and other riders who are sprinters like renshaw bullet passed me at massive speed whilst gesink is low on energy and is being caught by the peleton eventually i react by sending boom up who has 72 on the hills and he does 20 times better than gesink and hes more of a sprinter Shock
the outcome is boonen wins the stage 3 mins ahead of the peleton with riders like pettachi and chicch and renshaw finnishin 2nd 3rd and 4th 2 mins ahead i dont know what the hell im doing wrong
( gesink had full energy full water supply and before the attack had a heart rate of 140 it makes no sense how a sprinter can smash a climber in a hilly stage )
well thats my story and ive even tried playing again in easy with rabobank and improving there stats slightly but still makes no diffrence im not sure if its a type of bug ?
but its like one and very annoying )
anyone having similar trouble ???

how high is your fitness? 79 hill means squat if your rider has no fitness Grin
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

gesinks fitness was 74 just out of a training camp ?
maybe your right but i just dont understand how boonen uphill got away so quickly

Acceleration? Gesink isn't rly the accelerating type, so he that's your problem there.
