I've added a team of my own, to try and start from the aboslute bottom. Now that I play, I get a purple box instead of a logo, I've made a .tga file with my logo and now I want to add it to my game, but I can't find anywhere to do so?
yes, this is quite easily accomplished. If you go into the game's main directory at C:/Program Files/Cyanide/PCM2010 (or similar, depending on how you installed it) then navigate to GUI/team/logo, you'll see a directory with a number of .dds and .tga files in it.
Your custom team logo should go into this folder, in .tga format, 32bit (not sure if 24bit works) and with an alpha layer transparency defined (otherwise it'll be a block with a white or solid background).
If you replaced an existing team then the easiest method is to save your .tga file with the same abbreviated name as the team you replaced, for example if you replaced Astana the team logo file is asa.tga. I believe you can also use the c00.tga-c15.tga files for custom teams but I'm not 100% sure on how to define that in the editor.
I've created one form scratch, so I can't just replace pictures. If it's my last option I'd probably end up replacing an excisting team, but I'm not very keen on that option. Is there an editor that will allow me to add a .tga file to the game?

I'm sure someone will follow-up on that.
This actually helped, I gave up finding out how to combine a created team with a created logo, so I started substituting another team. When I typed in the 3 charachter name, the logo that I've created popped up (I hadn't changed any pictures), so that's the way to do it.
