Does the races a young rider rides have any impact on his developement. Take for instance, two identical young mountainriders. One of them rides only flat stages, and the other only mountainstages. Will the one that rides mountainstages develope faster or will his potential be bigger? |

I don't think so - the development depends only on the coaching and the pre-set potential (-->stars) |

The potential will never change.
The training type will decide which abilities he will develop, but he cannot develop further if no "stars" are left.
The ability of the coach for the selected training type and a hidden development speed of the rider will decide how fast he develops.

I have a question too, that suits in to the thread.
Does the level of the competitions a youngster enters help his development? Like it was in PCM06 (maybe a newer one as well) where all the riders had an experience bar and had to enter different types of races to develop. Hope you understand my question =) |

I don't know if i understand you right, but i think that young riders develop faster if they ride races suited for them. Like much continentals en only few protour. |

Wrong.
That feature from old version was replaced by the star system. Read my post, it says it all. |

what about potential "wasted" for giving too many race days to youngsters?
what's the limit of racedays? does it affect only cyclist in their neopro year or every cyclist below a certain age? |

No forum member ever experienced any loss of potential even when racing more then 60 days. If this feature was in the game once, then most surely it has been removed. |

hmm, to make things more clear ... at which days a rider will get such an improvement of skills? just only at pure training days or also when he's in some race?
let's express it in another way: while assuming in theory, a young rider would participate every single day of the whole season in any race ... would his skills still increase or not? he's linked to some coach of course...
and second question:
i noticed there are 2 rows in dyn_cyclist ... called "day progression" and "year progression" (something like that) ... are these values for the rate of increase of skills? |

LoStaffan: You can ask the same question in 100 different ways you will get the same answer every time. Just read my post again:
The potential will never change.
The training type will decide which abilities he will develop, but he cannot develop further if no "stars" are left.
The ability of the coach for the selected training type and a hidden development speed of the rider will decide how fast he develops.
About your other question, it has been explained before, please use the forum search, you should get good results of you search by such a special word like "gene_i_day_progression" >> https://www.pcmdai...ad_id=9534 |

well, this explains the common process of a rider development ... but not, if the "hidden development speed" is based on a "race" day or a "training"/"normal" day or both (which was just my question) ... does it?
but ok, you're right ... if i wouldn't have been that lazy and did a search before asking ... so that i have found that latest post of your own in that thread you mentioned ... then there wouldn't have been any further questions left
so thanx for the detailed explanation in that thread |
